Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel in Dana Point, California
August, 2011 - Shannon Gilbert has been named Director of Sales for the 396-room ocean front Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel announced General Manager Bruce Brainerd. Ms. Gilbert will be responsible for all the resort’s sales efforts including group, leisure and business travel sales, catering sales and revenue management.

Given her history in Orange County and past experience at the property, Shannon will have an immediate impact at the property, driving the sales efforts while continuing to build upon our successes of the past three years.” said Brainerd. “As a new member to the resort’s Executive Committee, I look forward to all her contributions to our hotel, community and brand.” added Brainerd.
With more than 16 years of experience in the hospitality industry, she most recently served as director of sales and marketing at The Ritz-Carlton, Denver. Prior to her appointment in Colorado, she served as associate director of sales at The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel and Half Moon Bay. Previously, Ms. Gilbert served as a national sales manager for The Ritz-Carlton, Rancho Mirage and director of Northwest sales at La Quinta Resort & Club. Ms. Gilbert holds a degree in Business Administration from College of the Desert, and is a member of Meeting Planners International (MPI) and Insurance Conference Planner Association (ICPA).
