Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas to Capitalise on Growth in Retail Travel Market
with IDeaS Pricing and Forecasting Support

All Anantara properties to use IDeaS technology to boost performance in competitive environment

 
Sydney – August 10, 2011 – IDeaS Revenue Solutions, the leading provider of pricing and revenue management software, services and consulting, today announced a new partnership with Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas, as the hospitality company moves to enhance their pricing and forecasting systems to capitalise on growth within the retail travel market.

Anantara is a leading, Thai-based hospitality company operating 15 hotels in the Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Indian Ocean regions, with seven more hotels set to open by the end of the year. After conducting a highly successful trial period, they opted to install a mixture of the IDeaS Forecasting Management System (FMS) and the IDeaS Revenue Management System (RMS) into all of the Anantara owned hotels.

Given the highly competitive and changeable nature of the hospitality industry, Anantara sought to implement a more technologically advanced tool that would better enable the hotel company to manage the constant changes in today’s operating conditions.

“Manually generated data could result in our forecasts being quickly out of date or less accurate, which was not a satisfactory outcome for the hotels. There was an immediate need to help our hotels have a better strategic approach to their business,” said Philip Schaetz as Vice President Revenue Management for Anantara.

In working with IDeaS, Anantara properties decided to deploy the IDeaS FMS at certain properties, and the IDeaS RMS at other properties. The combination of the two systems provides Anantara with accurate pricing and a clear vision to their data across all hotels, bringing additional accuracy and consistency to the revenue management process.

In addition to updating their approach to forecasting, Anantara properties are also looking to capitalise on growth in direct bookings and the retail travel market. Philip Schaetz, Vice President Revenue Management, commented, “What really drew us towards IDeaS was how their systems provide us with an indication of the opportunity costs of selling any given amount of our business at a given wholesale price.
