SINGAPORE, April 2010 – Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts is pleased to announce the following executive appointments in Asia Pacific: Ferry Warnke as General Manager of Swissôtel Kolkata and Daniel Fueglister, as General Manager of Swissôtel Sydney.

Ferry Warnke, General Manager of Swissôtel Kolkata
Ferry moves to Kolkata from Swissôtel Merchant Court, Singapore where he was the Executive Assistant Manager since 2007. He recently held similar responsibilities in Turkey, as Interim General Manager of Swissôtel Grand Efes, Izmir from June until October 2010. Ferry first joined the Company in December 2002 as Food & Beverage Manager of Swissôtel The Howard, London, a position he kept until August 2005. He then spent almost a year in Australia as Director of F&B at Stamford Plaza Adelaide, before re-joining Swissôtel in Ankara as Executive Assistant Manager in charge of Food & Beverage.

Ferry brings with him over 14 years of experience in hospitality, first joining Claridge’s London, UK in 1997. He then progressed to the Conference and Banquet section at The Lygon Arms, The Broadway, UK and then Beverage Director at The Plaza, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, New York. He further joined the Sopwellhouse London, UK as Operations Manager before he joined Swissôtel Hotels and Resorts.

With a Degree in Restaurant and Service Management from KATAG in Luzern, Switzerland and a Master’s Degree in Hotel Management from the Bavaria Hotel School in Germany, Ferry is well positioned to steer Swissôtel Kolkata to greater heights. Opened in 2010, Swissôtel Kolkata is the internationally renowned Swiss hospitality chain’s maiden foray into India. Daniel Fueglister, General Manager of Swissôtel Sydney
Daniel’s most recent appointment prior to joining Swissôtel Sydney was at Swissôtel Le Plaza, Basel in Switzerland as General Manager. A Swiss national, Daniel brings with him over 30 years of extensive operational and hotel management experience through his varied postings throughout Switzerland.  Holding an MBA from the Graduate School of Business Administration (GSBA) Zürich, Daniel’s career began at the Hotel Metropol, St. Gallen in Switzerland, followed by various operational and management work experiences in several renowned hotels in Switzerland such as Hotel Chesa Guardalej in St. Moritz, Hôtel du Rhône, Genève; Posthotel, Weggis; Parkhotel Zug and Hotel Saratz, Pontresina.

Daniel joined Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts in 2008 as General Manager of Swissôtel Le Plaza, Basel. There he put in place new initiatives and successfully achieved consistency and development in guest services, quality improvement and the overall management of the hotel.

Making his debut in Australia and in his capacity as Swissôtel Sydney’s General Manager, Daniel will be responsible for continually raising the hotel’s overall quality to meet and exceed Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts’ quality and service standards, as well as growing business performance potential. He will oversee all managerial, operational and developmental aspects of the hotel and spearhead the hotel’s strategic planning and development of the hotel’s image and awareness initiatives.
