WATERFORD, CT (May 5, 2011) – Waterford Hotel Group has announced the appointment of Robin Ann Brown as Director of Sales and Catering of The Lord Jeffery Inn located in Amherst, Massachusetts. The Lord Jeffery Inn is currently closed for a $14 million restoration and renovation project, and is slated to reopen fall of 2011. The property is owned by the Amherst Inn Company, an affiliate of Amherst College, and is managed by Waterford Hotel Group, a national hotel and convention center management firm. In her new role as Director of Sales, Brown will be responsible for the total sales and catering efforts at The Lord Jeffery Inn. She joins the Inn’s management team with more than 30 years of sales and catering experience, beginning her career as a Culinary Apprentice with The Ritz Carlton in Boston. Since that time, Brown has held numerous positions in hotels throughout Massachusetts, including Assistant Food & Beverage Manager, Director of Catering and Banquets, and Director of Catering. She has also held the Director of Sales title for the Best Western Royal Plaza in Fitchburg, the Sheraton Four Points in Leominster and the Courtyard by Marriott in Fitchburg. Brown most recently served as Senior Sales Manager for the Andover Inn in Andover. “We are very pleased to welcome Robin to The Lord Jeffery Inn team,” commented Robert Reeves, General Manager for the Inn. “With her extensive sales experience we believe she will be a great asset to our property. She is a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) and a member of Meeting Planners International (MPI), as well several area business organizations including the North Central, Merrimack Valley, North Boston, and Nashoba Valley Chambers of Commerce.
