EasyRMS Selected as RM Partner by The Cavendish London for Accurate Forecasting & Advanced Business Intelligence New contract sees EzRMS™ deployed at the four-star, central London property renowned for its exquisite taste and unique history London – May 9th, 2011: Easy (Ez) Revenue Management Solutions Ltd (EasyRMS) , the leading provider of SaaS Revenue & Yield Management software and services to the global hospitality industry, is happy to announce the successful implementation of EzRMS™ at The Cavendish London, a four-star deluxe hotel situated on Jermyn Street, in the heart of Mayfair. The Cavendish London is a unique hotel with a unique history that dates back to the early 1830s. It stands on the same site as the original Cavendish Hotel, whose most famous owner was Rosa Lewis, better known as ‘The Duchess of Jermyn Street’ in a real-life Seventies TV dramatisation. The present building was opened in 1966, and was considered one of the most modern hotels of its kind at the time. Nowadays the distinguished property sees a mix of business and leisure guests coming through its doors to enjoy a veritable escape from the hubbub of the capital, in a warm and tranquil environment. Famous for its exquisite taste, the highest standards of cuisine and dining are expected, and achieved, at The Cavendish London, which was recently awarded an AA Rosette. This central London hotel has 230 contemporary guestrooms and five elegant meeting rooms, all with natural daylight and complimentary WiFi access. It is the perfect venue for lunches, dinners, conferences, meetings and receptions, with packages that include Carbon Neutral Meetings, Private Dining and Drinks Reception. Back in September, The Cavendish made a decision to implement the EzRMS™ Revenue Management suite, following ongoing challenges with their existing RMS. As Mike Gadbury, Vice President - Strategic Sales, EMEA, explains, “The need for improved forecasting as well as the detailed analysis and reporting ability within EzRMS™ were important factors in the hotel’s decision to switch to our product.” Neil Braude, Director of Revenue at The Cavendish London, says he was looking for a system that gave reliable, accurate forecasts that would help him make better decisions further out; he also wanted improved business intelligence on the reporting side. “The single biggest benefit of the implementation has to be the reporting it offers,” says Neil. “There is an incredible amount of detail that will enhance our ability to price not just on a day-to-day basis but also on an annual contract level, such as corporate accounts, due to the level of detail we are now able to extract. In the first two months of going live, the forecast has been within 3% of actuals and the forecast for the next three months is pretty much in line with our own.” Neil adds, “The fact that we can trust the EzRMS™ forecasts and validate them against our own gives us the confidence to be more aggressive in the market and to make more challenging decisions.” Mike Gadbury concludes: “This is a fantastic property to add to our portfolio and we are pleased to have been able to successfully replace the system of our main competitor. I feel confident that The Cavendish London will now benefit from improved Revenue Management and higher profits through the use of EzRMS™.” About The Cavendish London: It was back in 1833 that Millers Hotel opened as a business on the corner of Jermyn Street and Duke Street, and in 1836 the name was changed to The Cavendish. Following a divorce, Rosa Lewis took over management of the hotel in 1902. In 1911 she secured the three adjoining buildings and so extended the property substantially. By 1923 it had gone from four bedrooms to forty-six. The hotel played an important role during both World Wars and was badly damaged in the Blitz, but continued to do business. Following Rosa’s death in 1952, her friend, Edith Jeffrey, ran the hotel for another decade, but when she also died, it was emptied of its contents and lay unoccupied for two years, until rebuilding started in 1964 and the hotel opened to the public in 1966. Owned by what grew into the Trusthouse Forte group from 1964 to 1966, The Cavendish London then became part of the Granada leisure group in a new merger, and was then purchased by De Vere Holdings for £60 million in 2000. Since 2006, the property has belonged to Ellerman Investments, owners of the Telegraph group.
