InvoTech Expands Macau Casino Hotel Presence

Leader in Inventory Control Systems Will Implement GIMS™ Uniform
System in Sheraton, Shangri-La, St. Regis and Traders Properties

LOS ANGELES, June 27, 2011 – InvoTech Systems, Inc., provider of the GIMS™ Uniform, Linen, and Laundry Systems, announced its continued expansion in the Macau casino hotel market.  Coming soon are installations of its GIMS™ Uniform System using RFID technology in the new Sheraton, Shangri-La, St. Regis and Traders branded properties.  InvoTech translated its GIMS™ system to the Mandarin language for easier use in Chinese markets. Please click here for more information on GIMS™.

When the new properties are implemented, InvoTech’s GIMS™ inventory control system will automatically track 125,000 uniforms for 10,500 employees who will serve the 6,000 new Sheraton, Shangri-La, St. Regis and Traders branded hotel rooms.  GIMS™ Uniform Systems are already being used by the Venetian Macau Resort Hotel, MGM Grand Macau, Wynn Macau, Altira Macau, Four Seasons Macau, and Plaza Casino Macau.

GIMS™ was important to the success of the Venetian Macau’s grand opening in 2007 and its expansion in 2008, which included the Plaza Macau Casino and the Four Seasons Hotel. At these properties, the GIMS™ system tracks 165,000 uniforms for 14,000 employees as the apparel items move from uniform departments to employees and laundries.

The GIMS™ Laundry System with RFID technology is used by Clean Living Laundry and Tim Fung Laundry in Macau which interfaces with the GIMS™ systems at the hotels and casinos for complete inventory tracking. The GIMS™ Laundry System also provides several benefits to the laundries, such as automated uniform tracking within the laundry facilities and billing to the customers.

Specialized system critical to Venetian’s success
“Macau is the fastest growing hospitality market in the world,” said Jeff Welles, vice president of InvoTech, the world leader in RFID uniform and linen inventory tracking for hotels, casinos, resorts, and theme parks. “Our new project at the Venetian is based on the success of our GIMS™ RFID system in other areas of the property and at gaming properties in Macau.”

The GIMS™ real time tracking system increases inventory accuracy and reduces manual labor through:
  • Durable RFID chips sewn into apparel items that enable the bulk scanning of uniforms; this efficiently tracks their movement without hand counting or single-piece barcode scans.
  • An interface with automated uniform conveyer systems. Employees can swipe their ID cards at pickup stations and, in a matter of seconds, automatically get their clean uniforms for each
  • day’s work
  • GIMS™ also tracks purchase date, manufacturer, number of cleanings and cost for easy budgeting of replacement uniforms year to year.
‘Much interest’ in InvoTech at HOFEX
“The GIMS™ RFID system for uniforms and linens was showcased at the HOFEX 2011 Exhibition in Hong Kong on May11-14 of this year. There was much interest in the GIMS systems,” Welles said. “Our translation of the system to Mandarin shows our commitment to this growing market.” The system delivers reports to executives in either language depending on individual preferences.
