Warwick International Hotels (WIH) Purchases 30,000 Square Feet of Land Adjacent
to the Warwick Melrose Hotel, Dallas, Built in 1924, for Expansion

Plans Call for Pillar-less Ballroom and New Meeting and Conference Space.

PARIS (April 6, 2011)
– WIH announces the acquisition of a piece of land adjacent to the Warwick Melrose Hotel Dallas. Subject to relevant approvals from the City, these 30,000 square feet of land would permit a major expansion to take place next to the historic hotel that was erected in 1924.

The current plans call for a large and pillar-less ballroom which would be complemented by additional meeting and conference space in a nearby building. The construction of a spa and a swimming pool is also under study. This would effectively more than double the present 7,000 square feet of meeting and event space, said Richard Chiu, President of WIH.

Serving one of America’s key gateway cities, the 184 room Warwick Melrose Hotel is an AAA Four-Diamond luxury hotel and a well-known Dallas landmark that welcomes everyone from visiting dignitaries and international celebrities to business travellers. It is also a popular wedding venue.

“We are proud to be part of this multi-cultural and diverse area of Dallas, and to be able to serve the City with more capacity for larger functions than those we can currently host. The new facilities will also allow us to extend the same atmosphere and gracious service that have already made the Warwick Melrose one of the most sought-after hotels in North Texas,” Chiu said.

Located at 3015 Oak Lawn Avenue, Warwick Melrose Hotel offers an ideal location just minutes from downtown Dallas, three miles from Love Field airport and within minutes of the prestigious Park Cities, Turtle Creek and Uptown neighbourhoods.

Warwick International Hotels purchased the Melrose in 2007. Since 2008, the Hotel has invested millions of dollars in upgrading the facilities, including a complete renovation and refurbishment of the entire inventory of guest rooms and suites except the Presidential Suite, which will be upgraded shortly while keeping and respecting its gracious and timeless elegance (a request constantly made by loyal clients).

All guest rooms are hard-wired and offer Internet Wi-Fi services. In fact, increased Wi-Fi capacity was added recently in the Hotel’s public space and meeting facilities to accommodate guests during Super Bowl XLV.

In 2008, Warwick Melrose Dallas completed the renovation of The Library bar, a long-time Dallas favourite for cocktails, upscale bar cuisine and sophisticated live music. The hotel also is home to an AAA Four-Diamond restaurant, The Landmark, known for power breakfasts, romantic dinners and lavish holiday brunches.
