Tallahassee, Florida's Hotel Duval Appoints Steven Adams as Director
of Food & Beverage and Makes Three Other Key
Food and Beverage Appointments


Tallahassee, Fla. – April 29, 2011 – Hotel Duval, a style icon and the first and only boutique hotel in Tallahassee, proudly announces multiple promotions within its food and beverage team. Embracing the surrounding university campuses, Hotel Duval has retained 10 students for various positions right out of college, aiding to keeping fresh talent in the Tallahassee community. Gaining a new Director of Food & Beverage, a Head Coach, an Assistant Head Coach along with a new Business Development Manager of Shula’s 347 Grill, the culinary homegrown dream team of Hotel Duval is in place.

Director of Food & Beverage
Steven Adams has been promoted from Head Coach of Shula’s 347 Grill to Director of Food & Beverage of Hotel Duval. Responsible for the entire food and beverage experience throughout the property, including Shula’s 347 Grill, LeRoc, in-room dining and Level 8, Adams brings more than a decade of food and beverage experience and has been a part of the Hotel Duval team since preopening.

“Our associates are thrilled to have Steve as Director of Food & Beverage. His passion and leadership has really helped shape and drive the morale of the Hotel Duval team,” says Marc Bauer, general manager, Hotel Duval.

Before joining the Hotel Duval team, Adams was the director of food & beverage for Georgian Terrace Hotel and general manager of the hotel’s Livingston Restaurant. Other positions Adams held include food and beverage director at the Crowne Plaza Atlanta-Buckhead and manager at Kyma & Atlanta Fish Market, both in Atlanta, GA.



Head Coach

Rising to the top as the new Head Coach of Shula’s 347 Grill, John McCarroll was previously the Assistant Head Coach and brings 14 years of fine dining experience. McCarroll’s exposure includes The Breakers in Palm Beach, FL and Commander’s Palace in New Orleans, LA. As Head Coach, McCarroll’s responsibilities include day-to-day operations, staffing and marketing of Shula’s 347 Grill.


Assistant Head Coach

Paul Maraist, a server at Shula’s 347 Grill has been promoted to Assistant Head Coach. Before joining the team at Shula’s 347 Grill, Maraist spent years at Kool Beanz, was a part-owner at Food Glorious Food for six years and the food & beverage manager at The Golf Club at Summerbrooke. Maraist’s new role as Assistant Head Coach calls for assisting head coach in day-to-day operations, including scheduling, training and the beverage program.

New Business Development Manager
Jasmine Clemons has been hired as Business Development Manager of Shula’s 347 Grill. As a college student who was a part of the Shula’s 347 Grill team for a few years in the role of a bartender and hostess, Clemons understands the “ins and outs” of Shula’s 347 Grill and will excel in the task of building private dining business and generating business for the restaurant overall.

Home to Shula’s 347 Grill, a sports-style steakhouse offering “The Best Beef that Money Can Buy,” flows seamlessly with the vibe and décor of the property. Hotel Duval’s signature restaurant presents options of gourmet salads, fresh fish and exclusive Premium Black Angus Beef Burgers and Shula Cut Steaks. Hosting a street-level café, LeRoc, which features Starbucks coffee and locally grown and sourced food is open for breakfast and lunch. Level 8 is the only rooftop lounge of its kind from Atlanta to South Beach.
