Ariane Systems' Self-Service Check-In Technology Earns
PCI Certification for Data Security


Electronic self-service check-in software and hotel kiosks exceed stringent
international data security standards for payment systems



Montreal, Canada — April 27, 2011Ariane Systems, the world leader in self-service check-in/out technology for the hospitality industry, announces that its Allegro Online/Mobile/Kiosk solution has earned third-party certification for complying with international Payment Card Industry data security standards.

The certification process, conducted last month by the Chicago-based audit firm Trustwave, confirms that Ariane Systems’ Allegro product exceeds the requirements of PCI’s Payment Application Data Security Standard (PA-DSS) version 1.2, relating to the protection of cardholder data. A significant step beyond mere compliance, the certification by an unbiased auditor demonstrates Ariane’s commitment to transactional security for hoteliers and guests alike. PA-DSS is a series of requirements designed to ensure that companies that process, store or transmit credit card information maintain a secure environment, and the certification means that the nearly 1,600 hotel partners worldwide using the Allegro technology can be confident that their customers’ sensitive data is handled with the utmost security.

Allegro provides interfaces with more than 70 major property management systems; magnetic, RFID and virtual key systems; payment gateways and hotel loyalty programs. The guest user interface is designed to be extremely intuitive, making each transaction quicker and easier for the guest, and therefore providing increased efficiency of the check-in/out process for the hotel. By leveraging an extensive set of deployment and support services, as well as numerous partner relationships, Ariane has assembled an integrated turnkey self-service platform to provide software, hardware, deployment and support services, designed to minimize downtime and maximize guest experience while reducing a hotel’s operational support costs.

An upsell module built into the Allegro platform acts as an integrated CRM system, providing the hotel with a unique method of introducing pre-check-in offers to the guest, which then automatically post to the guest folio and ultimately increase revenue for the property. Upsell options can include upgraded room types, wireless Internet, breakfast and other hotel-specific options, such as food & beverage, spas, golf courses, shops or casinos.
