Reviews and User Generated Content –
Sales and Team Building Tools Webinar January 20th
.
.
January 2011

Love them or hate them, online reviews are here to stay!  Studies indicate that after price and location, hotel reviews and recommendations from friends are the most critical factors in hotel selection even if they have stayed at property previously!  The hotel can’t change its location but reviews and recommendations can be influenced by the way they monitor and respond to reviews and user generated content!

“The way consumers think about, plan and purchase travel has altered dramatically.”(Peter Yesawich, HotelNewsNow, 11/17/10) “We need to plug into what our customers are saying not only about the hotel but also the competitors,” Says Carol Verret.”Being on top of reviews from all sources – Trip Advisor, OTA reviews and social media comments and reviews – is the opportunity to not only create raving fans but to create a powerful sales tool to also influence travel planners’ sales decisions.”

In this webinar we will discover the following:
  • Trip Advisor:  Trip Advisor is now integrating with FaceBook to show travel destinations from ‘Friends’.   Now consumers can read not only reviews of properties they are considering but access their Friends preferences through FaceBook.  What this means for hotels trying to monitor and respond to Trip Advisor reviews.
  • Online Travel Agency Reviews.  The major OTAs vet their reviews by ensuring that these reviews come from people that have made their reservations through their platform.  Some OTAs allow the property to respond but there are circumstances that can be used to remove negative reviews from Expedia, Travelocity, etc.
  • Social Networks.  Monitoring and responding to mentions on FaceBook, Twitter, etc.  How to monitor these reviews and interact in a positive way in order to turn negative mentions into raving Fans.  How to monitor those reviews in accost effective manner so that you are alerted to recent posts.
  • Reviews of the Competition as Effective Sales Tools: Selling against the competition without trashing their reviews on review sites.  How to monitor the reviews of you competitors.  Using reviews as testimonials on other sites.
At the end of this program, participants will understand the impact of reviews and be able to formulate strategies based on reviews from many channels.  This program should be attended by revenue managers, Directors of Sales and General Managers as well as anyone else involved in managing and responding to online reviews.

The webinar will be on January 20 at 1pm EDT, Noon CDT, 11:00am MDT and 10am PDT.  The fee is $99 per connection or $89 per connection for multiple registrations from the same hotel or management company.  This webinar will be recorded and each participant will receive the recording.
