Hotel Métropole Monte-Carlo, Monaco Appoints Pauline Bergé
as Director of Sales and Marketing


 

Monaco - February 4, 2011 - Hotel Métropole Monte-Carlo has just appointed Pauline Bergé as Director of Sales & Marketing.

Dutch-born Pauline Bergé completed her education and professional training at the European School of Brussels and at Les Roches School in Switzerland, before commencing an international career, where she has most notably worked in the United States and in the Middle East.

Pauline Bergé first worked on several association projects for the Hilton Group in Belgium. She then moved to Dubai where, over the 5 years spent within the group on site, she was appointed Leisure Sales Manager. In 1998, she joined the Dubai Tourist Office charged with promoting the destination to the travel agents and tour operators in the United States. At the same time, she started distance learning and graduated from Les Roches School with an MBA in Business Administration..

In 2003, Pauline Bergé headed back to the Middle East to join the IHG Group as Director of Sales & Marketing of the Crowne Plaza Muscat in Oman. She contributed highly to the repositioning of the hotel, raising the property to the status of a 5-star hotel. In 2005, Pauline Bergé was promoted to the position of Area Director of Sales & Marketing for the group’s 5 properties located in the Sultanate of Oman. Part of her responsibilities included the sales and marketing strategy for the new Al Bustan Palace which re-opened in 2008, following a complete and major renovation programme.

In 2009, Pauline left the Sultanate of Oman to join the pre-opening team of the Mandarin Oriental Jnan Rahma in Marrakech as the hotel’s Director of Sales & Marketing.

Pauline Bergé is fluent in Dutch, English, French and German.

Opened in 2004, the Hotel Métropole in Monte-Carlo was designed by the world famous interior designer Jacques Garcia who has created a true 21st Century palace. This contemporary and elegant hotel combines a subtle blend of its glorious past with Mediterranean tones. The opening of the Joël Robuchon Monte-Carlo Restaurant, which has two Michelin stars, has ensured it one of the top destination hotels in the world, while the Métropole ESPA Monte-Carlo rejoins the close-knit circle of ‘Leading Spas of the World’. The latest exciting development at the Metropole sees the addition of Joël Robuchon’s first Japanese restaurant, YOSHI, which opened in December 2008. The Hotel Metropole Monte-Carlo is a member of the Leading Hotels of the World of which it was voted “Best Hotel in Europe” for 2008.
