Leisure Hotels and Resorts Appointed to Manage 72-room Cove Point Lodge
on Lake Superior in Beaver Bay, Minnesota

LEAWOOD, KS (February 8th, 2011)
- Leisure Hotels & Resorts, a Kansas City-based hotel management company, has been awarded management of Cove Point Lodge on the shores of Lake Superior in Beaver Bay, Minnesota.

Leisure Hotels will team up with property owners Steve Hillestad and Marcia Hillestad to redefine and aggressively market the lodge.

"Our management team is both proud and excited to assume the management of this Resort, my wife Carrie Voldness Olson was raised in Beaver Bay and my in-laws Gordon and Jean Voldness still live in the area as well." said Leisure Hotels and Resorts President/CEO Steve Olson. "Our plan is to maintain the areas of the resort that are working, and improve other areas that we feel need attention." Olson said "the company's goal is to operate a high-quality hotel that the North shore residents will be proud of."

Leisure is in the process of developing an extensive marketing and business plan for the lodge and helping to promote its many amenities across a variety of media outlets. Leisure has also placed two (2) of its most seasoned operators Chrissy and Monte Mraz from our sister resort, Chase on the Lake in Walker, Minnesota to manage the property. They are both extremely excited to move to the area and become a part of the community as well as structuring an on-site team that will continue to run Cove Point with the highest standards in customer service and quality.

The 72 room lodge and cottages opened in 1995 and is one of the few full-service resorts in the area. It features an amazing view of Lake Superior, lakeside dining, a lake view pool, sauna, and hot-tub and has an array of available activities such as hiking, biking, kayaking and snowmobiling to name a few. The lodge is only fifty (50) miles North of Duluth, and just over 3 hours from the Minneapolis Saint Paul area.

"Our goal is to introduce additional services to the property including meeting space and a spa, along with enhancing food and beverage operations, that mirror our other resort properties" said, Jamie Tatge, Leisure's Director of Resort Operations. "We are very excited to be here".
