MERRILLVILLE, Ind., Feb. 25, 2011--White Lodging is pleased to add the talents of Jess Johnson to the management team at the Nashville Marriott at Vanderbilt University.  Johnson will be the property's Director of Sales and Marketing. Most recently he served as the Director of National Accounts at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville.

Some of the results Johnson has achieved in his nine years in the industry include exceeding sales goals by as much as 250 percent and consistently increasing market segment. While at the Opryland Hotel and Convention Center, Johnson was instrumental in helping reopen the $200 million, renovated property six months after it was damaged in a flood.

Johnson's career started at the 4-Star, 4-Diamond Hilton El Conquistador Resort in Tucson, Arizona where he worked in the food and beverage department.  He left the El Conquistador in 2004 where he had risen to the position of Executive Meetings Manager.  Johnson's career path continued to climb as he was promoted to various positions at the Westward Look Resort in Tucson, the JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort & Spa in Tucson and the most recent position he held at the Opryland property.

Located on the campus of Vanderbilt University, the Nashville Marriott has 11 floors, 201 rooms, six suites, and 11,000 sq. ft. of total meeting space.
