IHG (InterContinental Hotels
Group) [LON: IHG, NYSE: IHG (ADRs)], the world's largest hotel group by
number
of rooms, today announces the reopening of the recently renovated
Holiday Inn
Resort Daytona Beach Oceanfront, located in the heart of Daytona’s
beach district,
facing the Atlantic ocean. A choice location for a Florida beachfront
vacation,
the resort features newly reconditioned spacious accommodations,
upgraded
during a $5 million renovation of the resort.
Formerly the Inn On The Beach,
the Holiday Inn Resort Daytona Beach Oceanfront features beachfront
rooms with
private balconies overlooking Daytona’s famous beach, as well as an
oceanfront
pool and lounge.
“The opening of the Holiday Inn
Resort Daytona Beach is yet another great reflection of the Holiday Inn
global
brand relaunch,” said Gina LaBarre, vice president, Americas Brand
Management,
IHG. “It’s the perfect location for a Florida family vacation and is
also ideal
for weddings, social gatherings and corporate events for business
travelers.”
The renovation of the resort is
in keeping with the $1 billion Holiday Inn relaunch, first announced in
2007.
The relaunch program creates a more contemporary brand image as part of
the
drive to increase quality and consistency across the global portfolio.
The
program focuses on arrival and welcome services, as well as guestroom
and guest
bath comfort.
Located at 1615 S. Atlantic Ave.,
the resort is within walking distance of a variety of restaurants,
beachfront
boutiques and stores on the Daytona Beach Boardwalk. It is also just a
short
drive from some of the area’s most popular attractions, including the
Daytona
International Speedway, the Ponce De Leon Lighthouse and the Daytona
Lagoon
Waterpark.
The seven-story resort has 185
guest rooms, including 19 suites, and features a newly remodeled
fitness center
as well as a business center. There is a Children’s Activity Center, a
Kid’s
Splash Park, game room and beach volleyball courts. Guests can also
relax in
the resort’s oceanfront hot tub and around the fire pits.
The Holiday Inn Resort Daytona
Beach Oceanfront features 1,200 square feet of meeting space and a
boardroom
ideal for business meetings. The hotel also includes a restaurant, open
seasonally for breakfast, lunch and dinner where kids 12 and younger
eat free
when accompanied by an adult and ordering from the kids’ menu. This
includes up
to four kids per reservation. All of the recently upgraded rooms
feature modern
coastal décor, wireless Internet, microwave, refrigerator and
flat panel
32-inch televisions with HDTV and HBO. For convenience, the rooms also
include
an iron and ironing board, private safes and coffeemaker.
“We are please to be part of
Holiday Inn, a brand that is recognized around the world,” said General
Manager
Efrain Silva. “Transitioning the hotel to a resort makes it the perfect
destination for guests who want to relax and enjoy a beach vacation. We
have
something for everyone: Jacuzzi suites and fire pits for a romantic
getaway; a
Splash Park for kids; and wireless Internet and desks in rooms for the
business
traveler.”
The Holiday Inn Resort Daytona
Beach Oceanfront is owned by Humphrey Reality Corp and is managed by
