New York � Oct. 8, 2010 � The Westin New York at Times Square is please to welcome Terry Lewis as general manager.  Lewis joins the 863-room hotel from the W Times Square where she held the same position.  In her new role, Lewis will oversee all operations for the award-winning hotel and its 500-plus employees.
 
Lewis is an industry veteran of over 25 years, and boasts nearly 15 years of experience with Starwood Hotels & Resorts, the management company of The Westin New York at Times Square.  Prior to the past year at the W Times Square, Lewis has held posts at the Four Points in Pittsburgh, Sheraton Suites in Columbus, Ohio, and the Sheraton Gateway Suites in Chicago.  She is a graduate of Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, where she received a Bachelor of Science in marketing. 
 
Lewis takes the helm at an exciting time, as The Westin New York at Times Square recently completed a $24-million, four-year refreshment program, well-timed to the trend of rebounding business travel.  The entire 863-room hotel, which opened in 2002, received upgrades in all areas including guestrooms, Bar 10 and the Majestic Ballroom.  The enhancement�s final stage, completed this spring, was 126 new Atrium Club Rooms and Atrium Club Lounge by renowned designer Vicente Wolf.  
 
The Westin New York at Times Square boasts over 34,000 square feet of flexible meeting space featuring 32 meeting and breakout rooms, including a dramatic, seven-story interior atrium, and three ballrooms, ranging from 220 square feet to 3,500 square feet.  There is also a 13-screen movie theatre, accommodating up to 526 people, connected to the hotel.  All of the flexible meeting space features sophisticated and extensive audiovisual capabilities and full banquet and catering services.  The property recently became the first hotel in the state of New York to receive the GS-33 Lodging Properties Silver certification from Green Seal�, and the first Westin Hotel worldwide to earn silver status.
