(October 5, 2010) � Ralph Vick, a veteran hotel executive, has been named general manager of The Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation.  In his new position, Vick oversees all day-to-day operations for the 251-room luxury lakefront resort � situated on 35 miles of pristine shoreline on Georgia�s Lake Oconee in Reynolds Plantation, an upscale golf community located between Atlanta and Augusta.
 
Vick is not new to The Ritz-Carlton, and spent 12 years working in resort operations for the legendary hotel company. �We are thrilled to welcome Ralph back to our management team, and are confident his operations expertise and hotel savvy will lead to the continued success of this uniquely appealing Georgia resort,� said Mark Selva, vice president for The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company.
 
With more than 25 years of experience working with some of the world�s most highly regarded hospitality brands, Vick was most recently the managing director of La Quinta Resort & Club and PGA WEST, a historic property near Palm Springs, Calif., which he worked to reposition as one of the region�s premier resort and golf destinations.
 
Prior to that, he was vice president and managing director of Sea Island Company, overseeing the redevelopment and rebuilding of The Cloister at Sea Island and directing operations for The Lodge at Sea Island Golf Club, two award-winning luxury properties on the Georgia coast. He was also president of Liberty Harbor Development, LLC, overseeing operational and sales strategies for a 134-acre, $2.5 billion master-planned community in Brunswick, Ga. 
 
Vick originally began a successful tenure at The Ritz-Carlton in 1987 as rooms executive, also serving in general manager roles and as a divisional training team leader to open seven Ritz-Carlton properties. 
 
As general manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Phoenix, he engineered the hotel�s ascent to a #1 rating in customer satisfaction � as measured by J.D. Power and Associates � among all Ritz-Carlton hotels worldwide. He also served as general manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island in Florida.
 
Additionally, he worked for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, serving as general manager of the company�s iconic Wigwam Resort, near Phoenix, Ariz. 
 
An accomplished real estate asset manager as well, Vick owned RLV & Associates, LLC, a full-service consulting firm for the resort/real estate industry. 
 
He is a native of Virginia and holds a bachelor of science degree from Virginia Tech.
