| ABACO, The Bahamas, - October 1, 2010 – The
Abaco Club
on Winding Bay, A Ritz-Carlton Managed Club recently named Ronald
Parker as the
new general manager for the oceanfront, island sanctuary located in the
Out
Islands of The Bahamas. In his new role, Parker will oversee daily
operations
for The Abaco Club. “I am pleased to have someone of Ronald’s caliber leading our Ladies and Gentlemen in Abaco,” said John Hearns, vice president, The Ritz-Carlton Club and Residences operations. “His 28 years with our organization positions him to deliver unparalleled service excellence to our Members and Owners.” Parker’s experience with the company spans between both field and corporate positions. Most recently, Parker held the position of general manager at The Ritz-Carlton Club, St. Thomas. Prior to his role in St. Thomas, Parker served as vice president of purchasing for The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C. in Chevy Chase, Md. Parker possesses extensive experience in the field working at several Marriott properties including the following: Miami and Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; New York and Westchester, N.Y.; Saddlebrook, N.J.; and Atlanta. Additionally, Parker served as the regional director of procurement for Marriott and Ritz-Carlton hotels in Atlanta, as well as director of operations for Marriott properties in Atlanta for the 1996 Olympic Games. In 1995, Parker was honored with the “Rooms Manager of the Year” award while working at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis. Parker is a graduate of Miami’s Florida International University with a bachelor’s of science degree in hospitality management. A native of New York, Parker and his wife, Pamela, are excited about relocating to Abaco.
