Roland Baumann Named General Manager of
The Eldon Luxury Suites Hotel in Washington, DC

Washington, DC, November 2010 … Roland Baumann has been appointed General Manager for The Eldon Luxury Suites Hotel, the all-suites property that opened last year in the heart of Washington, DC.  The Eldon is situated in a historic building near the Convention Center, Ford’s Theatre, Chinatown, and 10 blocks from Lafayette Square and the White House.  Walter Kohlross, Managing Partner of Key Management Group, which operates the property, made the announcement.

Roland Baumann was most recently Director for the Matterhorn Group of Zermatt, Switzerland, operator of hotels, restaurants and lounges in Zermatt.  He has also previously served as Professor at École Hôtelière de Lausanne, the world’s oldest hotel school, where he taught courses in Resort Development and Management as well as Food and Beverage Management.
 
Mr. Baumann has worked in leadership positions with major hotel brands, including Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Hyatt Hotels Corporation, and Radisson Hotels & Resorts.  Earlier in his career he served in the roles of Vice President of Food and Beverage and Vice President of Operations.
 
Baumann has been engaged as consultant with US Army Lodging, and with hospitality groups in multiple countries, including China, Morocco, Mexico, Switzerland, Thailand, Spain, Italy, France, Germany and Poland.  He is a graduate of the Hotel School, Lausanne, Switzerland, where he earned a Bachelors Degree in International Hospitality Management.  He has also attended Cornell University, and is a past member of the Virginia Hotel Association and the Michigan Hotel Association.  Mr. Baumann and his family reside in Potomac Falls, Virginia.
