Owned by Mutual of Omaha and developed by ECI Investment Advisors, the hotel will be managed by Aimbridge Hospitality, one of the nation’s leading independent hotel investment and management firms. This will be the eleventh Starwood branded hotel in the Aimbridge Hospitality portfolio of over 70 hotels and its first Element. Launched by Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. in 2008, the Element brand delivers a no-compromise, eco-chic experience enhanced by comfortable and inspiring public spaces. Element Hotels is the first major hotel brand to mandate that all its properties pursue the US Green Building Council's (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification. "This is an exciting time for Omaha as the opening of this hotel brings a new dimension in hospitality to the city," said Dave Johnson, President and CEO of Aimbridge Hospitality. "We are pleased to be working with Mutual of Omaha, and introducing Starwood's newest extended-stay boutique-lifestyle brand to a market that has been greatly underserved.” The hotel is part of a 15-acre, mixed-use urban development known as Midtown Crossing at Turner Park. The million-square-foot development includes nearly 500 condominium and apartment units as well as more than 220,000 square feet for restaurants, retailers and entertainment venues. “Omaha is a dynamic city known for its commitment to urban redevelopment as well as a thriving business sector and first-class artistic, cultural and recreational offerings, and we are thrilled to welcome the Element hotel to Midtown Crossing at Turner Park,” said Mutual of Omaha Senior Vice President John McClelland. “This brings an exciting and upscale new dimension to our project and to Midtown Omaha. Corporate extended stay housing has always been an important part of our plans for Midtown Crossing, and with this new hotel we can now meet that need as well as serve traditional travelers.” For
