James Carroll Appointed as President & CEO of Crestline Hotels & Resorts
 and President & CEO of Barcelo Crestline Corporation


FAIRFAX, Virginia., Dec. 14, 2010 - Bruce Wardinski, Chairman of Barcelo Crestline Corporation today announced the promotion and appointment of James Carroll to President & CEO of Crestline Hotels & Resorts and Barcelo Crestline Corporation.  Barcelo Crestline Corporation is the parent company of Crestline Hotels & Resorts which is among the five largest hospitality management firms in the U.S.  The appointment comes as Bruce Wardinski, who was formerly President & CEO of Barcelo Crestline, assumes the position of Chairman of the Board for Barcelo Crestline Corporation.

Upon announcing the appointment of Mr. Carroll, Mr. Wardinski said, "James' promotion is a significant part of our ongoing strategic management team realignment that began last year, and supports our proactive positioning of Crestline for continued growth and long-term success.  With James assuming the day-to-day management of both Crestline and Barcelo Crestline, I will be better able to fulfill our companies' strategic growth objectives by focusing my talents on high level planning and increased deal flow."

Prior to accepting his expanded position, Mr. Carroll served as the Chief Operating Officer for Crestline Hotels & Resorts, and before that, served as the Chief Financial Officer for Barcelo Crestline Corporation.  Mr. Carroll joined Barcelo Crestline in 2004 from Dell, Inc. where he held several operations and financial management positions. During his tenure at Barcelo Crestline, Mr. Carroll also served as Senior Vice President and Treasurer.

Mr. Carroll holds the degree of Master in Business Administration from the Harvard Business School.  He is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, having graduated with Merit with a Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Engineering.  Previously, he served as a Naval Aviator and Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy.
