Foxwoods Resort Casino and MGM Grand at Foxwoods
Promotes Robert Victoria to Chief Marketing Officer

BOSTON--July 20, 2010--Mashantucket Pequot Gaming Enterprises today announced the promotion of Robert Victoria to Chief Marketing Officer of Foxwoods Resort Casino and MGM Grand at Foxwoods. Victoria previously served as Senior Vice President of Consumer Marketing for Foxwoods.

In this role, Victoria will assume responsibility for all Foxwoods and MGM Grand at Foxwoods marketing and sales initiatives, including casino services, promotions, customer development, entertainment procurement, resort & hotel sales, advertising, database marketing, e-commerce, public relations and brand management for North America’s largest resort casino. Victoria will report directly to the President of Mashantucket Pequot Gaming Enterprises.

“Rob Victoria has a proven track record of leadership and accomplishment both within this organization and throughout the industry,” said Mashantucket Pequot Gaming Enterprises Interim President William Sherlock. “We’re confident that his knowledge and experience, combined with his innovative approach to marketing, will help ensure the long-term growth of Foxwoods and MGM Grand at Foxwoods.”

Victoria is a seasoned marketing professional with more than eighteen years of executive marketing and operational experience within the resort casino business. His background includes expertise in the operation and management of marketing divisions for multi-property casino, entertainment and resort destinations including, but not limited to, Harrah’s Entertainment and the Seneca Gaming Corporation. Victoria began his career at Foxwoods in 1992, where he held a managerial role through 1996. After sharpening his skills in the industry for the next decade, he returned to Foxwoods in February 2009 as Senior Vice president of Consumer Marketing.

In his previous role at Foxwoods, Victoria directed a number of successful initiatives designed to market North America’s largest resort casino to the consumers. Most recently Victoria negotiated several innovative marketing sponsorships. These include a partnership with the New York Liberty, which resulted in prominent placement of the Foxwoods logo on Liberty jerseys, marking the first time a resort casino has ever received branding on the front of a professional sports team uniform, and a presenting sponsorship of Boston’s iconic House of Blues. Other high-profile sports partnerships procured by Victoria include deals with the Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics, New Jersey Nets, and the New York Rangers.

In 2009, Victoria helped conceptualize Foxwoods’ ‘Wonder of it All’ campaign, a nationwide talent search to find the new voice of the property’s iconic jingle. Victoria also led the development of the Foxwoods iPhone application, the first-ever resort-casino branded application launched by Apple. The program brings the Foxwoods experience to both the iPhone and the iTouch, boasting a free “game play” feature, which enables users to play Foxwoods themed casino games on the handheld devices. It also brings a concierge service straight to the users’ phone, offering access to dedicated representatives of the property who answer questions as well as book rooms, appointments and reservations.

“I’m honored to be appointed Chief Marketing Officer of the East Coast’s premiere entertainment destination,” said Victoria. “I’m proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish since I arrived back here at Foxwoods and look forward to continuing my work with executive leadership and my incredible staff to create programs that inform consumers of our unmated Five Star service and all of the amazing amenities that this property has to offer.”

About the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation

The Mashantucket Pequots are a native Algonquin people in southeastern Connecticut, having endured centuries of conflict, survival, and continuity on and around one of America’s oldest Indian reservations, established in 1666. As the first native people within the borders of the continental United States to suffer attempted genocidal massacre by Puritan Colonists in 1637, the Pequots and their repatriation is an unprecedented story of restoration exhibited in detail at the Tribe’s world-class Museum and Research Center (www.pequotmuseum.org). Today the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation owns the largest resort casino in the world, Foxwoods Resort Casino (www.foxwoods.com), along with several other economic ventures including the Lake of Isles Golf Course (www.lakeofisles.com), a joint-venture partnership establishing the MGM Grand at Foxwoods, and Foxwoods Development Company dedicated to world-class resort development throughout the United States and Caribbean. All together, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation remains one of the State of Connecticut’s highest tax payers and largest employers. Likewise, the Tribe provides significant financial contributions to state and local nonprofit organizations that support neighboring communities.
