Crescent Hotel Group Finalizes its Historic Renovation of the
100 year-old Crescent Hotel in San Francisco

San Francisco, CA (July 6, 2010) - The Crescent Group announced today the completion of the Crescent Hotel San Francisco and The Burritt Room.  Following an extensive renovation, the hotel, which began attracting guests while partially opened in the fall of 2009, has completed the remodel of all 79 rooms and suites.  The resulting cozy urban oasis attracts both international travelers and those driving in for weekend getaways.  The Burritt Room has been quickly established as the new Happy Hour/weekend haven for San Francisco locals.

We are thrilled to fully open our doors to the public, said Matthew Meidinger, Director of Food and Beverage for the Crescent Hotel San Francisco and The Burritt Room. The charming atmosphere and incredible location provide a great value proposition for travelers and locals alike.  We are excited to showcase the personalized service and local experience that Crescent Hotel is known for in Los Angeles right here in the heart of San Francisco.

Located at the gateway to Union Square, close to the Stockton Tunnel, the hotel and lounge offer a touch of modern class and the friendly service that signifies a Crescent Hotel property.  The urban oasis is a three star property with four star appeal beckoning out of town visitors and locals just steps from the top shopping, dining and art center of San Francisco.

The remodel included adding touches of modern luxury to the original 1910 eight-story hotel (formerly the Allison Hotel).   On the first and second floors, cozy corners provide a great spot to enjoy one of The Burritt Room Bar Director Kevin Deidrichs praised cocktails, while a lenders library of old classics and an on-site, appointment only massage room serviced by Relax and Rejuvenate provide a uniquely delightful guest experience.

The architectural team maintained the structural integrity during the redesign, preserving the façade and moulding, wainscoting and hardwood floors when possible throughout the hotel. Vintage tiles and exposed original brick showcase the historical bones of the property. The interior design team sprinkled luxurious chandeliers and vintage mirrors throughout the main floors for a touch of old-world grandeur, while offsetting these elements with a modern, clean color scheme of black, white and red.

Amenities will include a meeting space and business room, on-site massages and the locally and nationally acclaimed Burritt Room: a bar and lounge serving innovative and classic cocktails.  Complimentary, continental breakfast is served daily.  Other amenities include free wi-fi, round-the-clock concierge service, a lobby lounge complete with a music library, and a house dog named Nelson who is on hand to greet other furry guests in this pet-friendly hotel.

As of July 15, 2010, The Burritt Room will offer a nightly bar menu Sunday through Thursday from 5 p.m. until midnight.  Friday and Saturday hours are 5 p.m. until 2 a.m.  In addition to the bar, The Burritt Room has an adjacent event space perfect for private parties and invitation-only live music events.  The Burritt Room bar menu showcases Kevin Diedrichs talent with fresh and seasonal local ingredients as well as twists on classics.

The legendary book, Maltese Falcon, based in San Francisco has ties to this historic location.   A plaque in the Hotels Burritt Alley entrance pays tribute to Sam Spades partner who was gunned down in the fictional story.
