Rio Mar Beach Resort and Spa, A Wyndham Grand Resort Appoints
Keith Kirsten Director of Sales and Lori Alstrom National Sales Manager
Rio Grande, PR – April 22, 2010 – Rio Mar Beach Resort and Spa, A Wyndham Grand Resort, strengthens its sales team with the appointment of Keith A. Kirsten as director of sales and Lori L. Alstrom as national sales manager for the northeast.
“Both Kirsten and Alstrom are industry innovators that possess a wealth of knowledge partnered with a results-driven work ethic,” says General Manager Danna Holck. “We couldn’t be happier to have them on our team.”
Kirsten comes to Wyndham Rio Mar from the Reno-Sparks Convention & Visitors Authority in Nevada, where he served as assistant director of convention sales for more than two years. Prior to that, he worked as the director of national group accounts for Marriott Hotels Worldwide where he exceeded his annual revenue goal of more than 20 million each year. He has built a solid foundation in hotel management by working his way across the country from the San Diego Marriott Hotel and Marina to the Renaissance Hotel in Cleveland. He is a member of several industry organizations, including the Meeting Planners International, American Society of Association Executives and International Association of Exhibitions and Events. At Wyndham Rio Mar, Kirsten will spearhead directing, training, coordinating and supervising the sales, catering and administrative managers in order to advance the hotel’s performance in the marketplace.
“Kirsten brings more than 25 years of experience to his new role at Rio Mar which is complimented by Alstrom’s award-winning northeastern know-how,” said Philip J. D'Amico, director of sales and marketing.
Alstrom hails from the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Niagara Falls, N.Y., where she served as a sales manager for more than a year. Previously, she was the director of sales and marketing for Hotel Niagara by Amidee, where she led the sales effort pre-opening the 193-room resort. While managing sales for hotels from St. Louis to Dallas, Alstrom’s strength lies in the northeast region. Having received a Gold Key Award from Hospitality Marketing Solutions for outstanding salesmanship, Alstrom continues to be recognized within the industry. In her new role, Alstrom will be responsible for prospecting and closing on northeastern accounts to positively impact Wyndham Rio Mar revenues and track month-end reporting.
