Innovation and Business-Building to Take Center Stage at Elite Meetings Internationals Spring 2010 EMA - May 16-18 at Terranea Resort

Elite Meeting Alliance (EMA) to Feature One-on-One Business Building, Educational Sessions and Hands-on Introductions to Elite Meetings Industry Leading Technologies, SpeedRFP and FaceTime  Appointment Scheduler

Santa Barbara, CA New technologies to support the work of meeting professionals and hotels, will compliment one-on-one business building sessions and unique educational opportunities to highlight Elite Meetings Internationals (EMI) Elite Meeting Alliance (EMA), a three-day event that brings together prequalified corporate and association meeting professionals with leaders in the luxury hotel industry.

Taking place at Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, May 16-18 2010, the EMA includes prescheduled one-on-one meetings, continuing education sessions for CMP credit, great speakers and unique networking events. For more information, visit www.EliteMeetingsAlliance.com.

We are excited about this Springs EMA, which promises to be the best yet, said Kelly Foy, Chief Executive Officer of Elite Meetings. He concluded, As the industry pushes forward toward complete recovery, its more critical than ever to make available tools and techniques that allow meeting professionals and hotel sales professionals to do their jobs efficiently, effectively and profitably. We look forward to providing an end-to-end experience that provides all of those things, and more, for EMA attendees.

Nearly 200 of the industrys most influential meeting professionals and hoteliers are expected to attend the Spring 2010 EMA. In one-on-one business sessions, they will conduct more than 1,100 face-to-face meetings to book business and create and reinforce business relationships.

EMI Technology on Display

EMA attendees who have not already done so, will have the chance to participate in hands-on demonstrations of two of EMIs cutting edge technologies: SpeedRFP and FaceTime Appointment Scheduler.

SpeedRFP, a new product for creating, submitting and tracking RFPs online, officially launched earlier this month, and is already generating RFPs for meetings planners and hotels in the U.S. and internationally. As it gains in adoption, planner input continues to be gathered to shape SpeedRFP into a game-changer for the industry. SpeedRFP is a completely portable and seamless RFP technology that is fully APEX-compliant. Any hotel can download the Community Edition at no charge, and it is free to meeting professionals, from whom it is already drawing enthusiastic support.

EMIs FaceTime Appointment Scheduler technology is a proprietary streamlined program which helps buyers and sellers request, create, and manage appointments at meetings and conventions. Used widely at industry trade shows including the 2009 Motivation Show and MPIs MeetDifferent 2010, FaceTime facilitated the confirmation of more than 1,100 face-to-face business meetings at the Spring 2010 EMA.

Updates on both of these technologies will be provided at the EMA, and all attendees will have the chance to learn about them and register for their use on an ongoing basis

Education and Community Responsibility

Speakers at the Spring 2010 EMA will include Dianne Budion-Devitt of The DND Group, Inc. She will speak on how to Reinvent With Passion. Ms. Budion-Devitt is an assistant professor at New York Universitys Preston Robert Tisch School of Hospitality, Tourism and Sports Marketing, as well as president of New Yorks chapter of Meeting Professionals International, and is a recipient of the industrys Hall of Fame recognition.

Also featured will be Midori Connolly, CEO of Pulse Staging & Events, Inc. Ms. Connolly is author of the first-ever set of guidelines for Green AV Staging, and a trusted resource in audiovisual support for hybrid meeting design, production, and execution for clients such as BMW and PCMA; she will speak about Beyond Water Bottles: the Business of Green Meetings.

Also speaking is Jeanette Nyden, J.D., a former Assistant Public Defender and bankruptcy litigator, who founded J. Nyden & Company in 2003 to teach the art of negotiation. Ms. Nyden will address How to Strike a Better Deal: Balancing Your Need for a Fair Price with Your Need for a Good Vendor Relationship.

Finally, EMA participants will have the opportunity to give back through an organized corporate responsibility activity at the Marine Mammal Care Center at Fort MacArthur, CA. The Marine Mammal Care Center is a hospital for ill, injured and orphaned marine mammals, focused on the treatment and release of rescued California sea lions, northern elephant seals, harbor seals and northern fur seals.
