Worldwide today announced the signing of a franchise agreement with
Brayford Hotels for a new Doubletree by Hilton hotel in Lincoln, UK.
Anticipated to open in 2011, the 115-guestroom Doubletree by Hilton,
Lincoln marks the continued growth of the Doubletree brand in the UK.
Building on an increasing pan-European presence, the global hotel brand
opened Doubletree by Hilton, Cambridge in 2008 and has seen significant
growth across the UK and continental Europe in the last two years.
Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president of development for Hilton Worldwide in Europe and Africa commented: “The new Doubletree by Hilton, Lincoln will be another great addition to our U.K. portfolio of nearly 90 hotels, where we are consistently growing our multiple brand presence in a variety of locations. The new-build Doubletree by Hilton, Lincoln will be located in the city centre at Brayford Wharf North and offer 115 guest rooms, a rooftop restaurant, a bar and large conference and event space. The hotel will also have a fitness centre and offer an onsite car park. Lincoln is a regional centre for tourism, with its famous cathedral and castle, as well as many sites of historical interest for visitors. The city is also known for its large student population, with visitors arriving for education, leisure and business purposes.
