625 Imperial Pillow Top Mattress Recognized in Case Goods
& Freestanding Furniture Category

GARDEN GROVE, CALIF.June 7, 2010Sterling Sleep Systems 625 Imperial Pillow Top mattress was presented with the Award of Excellence in the 2010 Annual International Interior Design Association (IIDA)/Hospitality Design Product Design Competition at the recent Hospitality Design Exposition and Conference in Las Vegas. Sterling Sleep Systems won an award in the Case Goods and Freestanding Furniture category. Judges selected the winners based on the following: innovation, technical advancements, cost effectiveness, environmental responsibility, aesthetics, need and usage in the hospitality industry, and both client and user benefits.

As the developer of Sterlings sustainable bed system, the idea of being able to replace worn and soiled mattress parts always seemed so practical that it was really special to have the IIDA judges agree, said Tony Hochschild, owner of Sterling Sleep Systems. I want to thank the IIDA for honoring Sterling Sleep Systems with this years award of excellence. Over the last 14 years there have been lots of elegant luxury beds to choose from; having ours selected as the most practical of them all is quite remarkable.

The 2010 judging panel included Viveca Bissonnette, IIDA, Assoc. AIA, CID, LEED AP, Carrier Johnson + CULTURE, San Diego, Calif.; Rick Marencic, IIDA, Daroff Design Inc, Philadelphia; Bruno Viterbo, IIDA, Champalimaud, N.Y.; and Michael Dalton, IIDA, Strategic Hotels & Resorts, Chicago.

The 625 Imperial Pillow Top mattress integrates several patents that Sterling Sleep Systems holds on its innovative replaceable component mattress system. Sterling Sleep Systems is one of the companies that pioneered the advanced count toothed zipper system. The technology makes it easy to change individual parts and ensures outstanding comfort and quality. The cover material used for the outer layer is a stretch knit and includes an aloe vera, anti-bacterial and anti-microbial treatment and 300 gram/meter ticking.  Inside is a tempered individual coil spring assembly that is fully foam-encased and boasts Real Foam edge support which provides a superior edge to edge sleep surface. The high end Marshall Coils used reduce motion transfer between sleepers and, according to industry experts, are the best all-around spring system for distributing support and reducing pressure points. The 625 Imperial Pillow Top is available in six sizesEastern King, California King, Queen, Full, TXL, and Twin.

About Sterling Sleep Systems:

Garden Grove, Calif.-based Sterling Sleep Systems is the maker of Sterling Modular bed systems. Sterlings patented replaceable component system makes its mattresses hygienic and good for the environment. The advanced zipper system makes it easy to change mattress components and maintain mattress integrity and hygiene. Hotels can save money by replacing individual mattress pieces instead of the entire mattress. Mattresses come completely apart for easy cleaning and interchangeable, detachable components are easy to move and easy to store. When it is time to upgrade the sleep experience, hoteliers can simply add bed components, like firm Latex or plush Memory Foam overlays. In this way a classic level mattress can be converted to a more luxurious level without the expense of purchasing a completely new bed. Sterling Sleep Systems is an EPA WasteWise Partner.
