Tallahassee's Hotel Duval Appoints Pam Monnier
as Director of Meetings and Special Events


Tallahassee, Fla. – June 1, 2010 – Hotel Duval, Tallahassee’s newest and only upscale boutique hotel, announces Pam Monnier as director of meetings and special events. Responsible for generating, securing and coordinating private events and hotel conferences for groups of 10 to 250 people among more than 7,500 square feet of meeting space, Monnier brings more than 20 years of hospitality experience to her new position.
 
“On the heels of our much anticipated grand opening last October, Hotel Duval will benefit greatly from Pam’s experience and leadership,” said Marc Bauer, general manager Hotel Duval.  “We are thrilled to welcome Pam to our team, and know that she will be instrumental in achieving our goals of providing legendary service and expanding client outreach.”
 
Monnier’s decorated background includes her most recent experience at Florida State University as the director of industry relations for the Dedman School of Hospitality.  Previous to academia, she spent eight years with Club Corp, Inc. at the University Center Club in Tallahassee, Fl. as the senior director of catering and private events, where she added the roll of director of skybox catering to her repertoire.  In prior years, Monnier, served as general manager and banquet sales coordinator and event planner of Chez Pierre restaurant in Tallahassee.  Before making the move to Tallahassee, Monnier also opened a restaurant in Sanibel Island, Fl., which focused on catering and event planning.  She began her career at South Seas Island Resort on Captiva Island, Fl. in various food and beverage positions after completing the M.I.T. program on property.
 
“I am fortunate to join such a talented team and am very excited to be working with Hotel Duval.  The energy of the staff matches the feel of the property and I can’t wait to get started,” said Monnier.
