Monarch Secures Exclusive Agreement with Comphy to Make Eco-friendly
Line of Bed Linens Available to Global Hotel Market

100 percent recyclable sheets added to MONARCH ECO line,
providing hotels with sustainable linen solution and significant energy savings in laundry operations

South Egremont, Mass. — April 12, 2010 — Monarch Bath, Bed & Spa, a leading global provider of bathrobes and luxury hotel linens, today announced that they have signed an exclusive agreement with The Comphy Company to provide their eco-friendly line of bed sheets to the traditional hotel markets worldwide. Comphy sheets are the latest addition to the MONARCH ECO product line, a complete line of hotel towels, robes and sheets designed to conserve water and reduce energy costs in the laundry operation, while maximizing comfort and durability. Comphy sheets are designed to provide superior luxury for guests, while protecting the bottom line for hoteliers. Made from 100 percent recyclable polyester, Comphy sheets are designed to look and feel like 600-thread count cotton, and are guaranteed to last through a minimum of 300 wash and dry cycles. This superior durability represents a substantially longer life cycle than traditional cotton sheets of the same quality. In addition, Comphy is the only hotel sheet developed by a company that is a member of the Sustainable Furnishings Council.

“The ultimate goal for Monarch in the development of MONARCH ECO was to create a product line that encompasses the best products we could deliver to maximize the guest experience, energy savings and an environmentally-friendly product life cycle,” stated Gene Faul, CEO of Monarch Bath, Bed & Spa. “We have discovered a real gem with The Comphy Company, and by partnering with them to bring these innovative sheets to the hotel market, we are now positioned to provide the most comprehensive line of environmentally responsible hospitality linens anywhere.”

As the trends indicate, more than 76 percent of sheets currently used in the hospitality industry contain a form of improved fiber, chemical application, or weaving technology. Comphy is the next logical step for hoteliers, with advanced features including:
  • Luxurious look and feel (comparable to 600 thread count cotton)
  • Maximum breathability and comfort
  • 100% recyclable eco-friendly polyester
  • The Comphy sheet weighs 50% less than a comparable cotton or cotton/poly sheet
  • Dries quickly; Decreased drying time equals decreased energy costs
  • Does not require ironing; Treated for stain release
  • Highly recommended for people with sensitive skin
  • Extra fine weave protects against dust mite allergens
  • 18" deep pockets fit newer pillow top mattresses
“The product life cycle is becoming much more important environmentally and may in fact be the most important consideration for hoteliers today,” stated Robert Mishkin, co-founder and president of Comphy Co. “Through our new affiliation with Monarch, we are able to offer eco-conscious hotels a way to provide luxury for their guests, while substantially increasing the life cycle of their linens and decreasing energy costs in the laundry operation.”

Faul added, “The addition of Comphy sheets to our current line of MONARCH ECO robes and towels cements us as the most progressive and energy-minded linen company for hoteliers worldwide. The environmental benchmarks that every eco-conscious hotelier looks for we’ve got covered… and we’ve got their guest satisfaction and comfort covered, too.”
