Wesley Hotels Opens its Second Indigo Hotel in Nashville

The 96-room Hotel Indigo Nashville Downtown Is a
Conversion of Two Historic Buildings

ATLANTA March 30, 2010 - Hotel Indigo, IHGs (InterContinental Hotels Group) upscale boutique brand, today announces the opening of its second property in Nashville, Tenn. the Hotel Indigo Nashville Downtown.  Centered in the heart of downtown Nashville, the 97-room conversion property joins the Hotel Indigo Nashville Music Row Vanderbilt.  Both Nashville properties were developed by Wesley Hotels & Resorts, LLC, who currently has three Hotel Indigo properties in its portfolio with plans to develop more in the future.

The Hotel Indigo Nashville Downtown is owned by Union Street Plaza Operations LLC and managed by Wesley Hotels & Resorts, LLC, under a license agreement with a company in the InterContinental Hotels Group.

Located on Union Street, the Hotel Indigo is a conversion of what is still considered two of the most significant historic buildings in downtown Nashville the historic American Trust Building and the adjoining Nashville Trust Building.  While preserving the integrity and architecture of the 1920s buildings, Wesley Hotels & Resorts, LLC created a mixed-use facility that includes the Hotel Indigo, three floors of extended-stay suites, eight floors of prime office space, the only two-story Starbucks in the city, and a parking garage.

The Hotel Indigo brand is a flexible development option as there is no maximum or minimum number of rooms or rigid requirements surrounding the public spaces, which makes it perfect for conversions, said Mary Dogan, director, Brand Delivery, Hotel Indigo, the Americas, IHG.  In addition, our developers have the opportunity to interpret the design of the building as well as the interior to reflect the local environment.  We can attribute our success, especially in this economy, to working with the right owners like Wesley Hotels & Resorts to put the right hotels in the right markets.

Hotel Indigo is an ideal conversion brand not only for existing branded hotels or independent distressed properties, but also for a wide variety of buildings, including commercial properties, condominiums and historic legacy assets. Hotel Indigos flexible design platform, Interpret Indigo, also allows developers to capitalize on the original structure of the building while also creating unique design elements inspired by the architecture and surrounding neighborhood.

With the Hotel Indigo as the anchor, the mixed-use development is positioned well to benefit from state and local government given its immediate proximity to the Tennessee State Capitol as well as Nashvilles financial district, said Keith Worsham, president and CEO, Wesley Hotels & Resorts, LLC.  Additionally, the hotel is located near historic Printers Alley Nashvilles first entertainment hot spot and is in walking distance to the top dining, entertainment and shopping venues of the downtown area.

The Hotel Indigo Nashville Downtown opened to the public on March 19.  The 96 guestrooms and one penthouse suite are complete with original terrazzo floors and marble vanity tops.  The property features signature Hotel Indigo standards including inviting guestrooms with oversized beds and plush bedding for a fresh residential feel, spa-inspired showers with Aveda products, and photo murals with local imagery.  The hotels also offer casual gourmet dining, 24-hour business centers, a fitness center, and free wired or wireless high-speed internet access.

The three floors of extended-stay suites, named Hotel 315 Residences, are located on the top three floors of the Hotel Indigo and include 15 two-bedroom and three one-bedroom fully-furnished suites.

Leveraging its proven track record and balanced business model, Hotel Indigo continues to build momentum.  With the addition of the second Nashville property, there are 34 Hotel Indigo locations open worldwide and more than 60 hotels under development, either in the pipeline or in final negotiation.

The brands growth strategy is focused on top-tier priority markets and gateway cities like San Francisco, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and New York City.  In 2009, the brand opened 12 hotels and signed 14 deals globally demonstrating its success with both developers and consumers in spite of the economic downturn.  Hotel Indigo will fully realize its global positioning with the opening of the Hotel Indigo Shanghai on the Bund this August; additional properties are scheduled for Liverpool, England, Glasgow, Scotland and Hong Kong.

Hotel Indigo participates in IHG's guest loyalty program, Priority Club® Rewards.  With 48 million members worldwide, Priority Club Rewards is the industry's first and largest guest loyalty program. Guests can enroll for free by logging on at priorityclub.com, by calling 1-888-211-9874 or by inquiring at the front desk of this hotel or any of IHG's more than 4,400 hotels worldwide.
