Louis Martorano Named Executive Chef
at the 1,400-room Hilton Orlando


 
ORLANDO, Fla.�January 11, 2010 � The new 1,400-room Hilton Orlando has appointed Louis Martorano as its executive chef.  Chef Martorano will supervise a culinary staff of 65 individuals responsible for food production in the hotel�s six dining outlets, catering, banquets, meetings and in-room dining.  Martorano opened the Hilton Orlando as the banquet chef. Culinary offerings at the Hilton Orlando reflect the most contemporary trends of fresh, local produce, nutritional options for adults and children, and sustainable and organic choices. 

�Louis� passion for and skill with food is rarely found,� said Hilton Orlando General Manager Doug Gehret. �We�re excited to see his culinary expertise continue to show itself in the hotel�s many dining options.�

Chef Martorano brings with him more than 20 years of experience, having served as a chef in California, Tennessee, Maryland, and Florida. Prior to his arrival at the Hilton Orlando, Martorano was executive chef of the National Pastime at the Gaylord National Hotel & Resort located in National Harbor, Md. In this role, Martorano was responsible for the hotel�s second grand opening, as well as the management of all departmental functions and 41 culinary staff members, including three sous chefs. Previously, Martorano worked for 11 years at the Boca Raton Resort and Club as chef of the Mizner Center and later of the Lucca Restaurant. 

The Hilton Orlando offers seven dining options, including in-room dining, Tropics Pool Bar & Grill, The Marketplace, the Lobby Lounge, and featuring: 

� Spencer�s: A casual, contemporary restaurant that sets the new standard for steaks and chops in Orlando. Spencer�s features a private dining room, wine room, open-display kitchen, private bar and outdoor terrace overlooking resort amenities. 
� David�s Club Bar & Grill: An upscale social entertainment environment, David's Club features fine wines and spirits and a creative menu. Pool tables, LCD televisions, large overstuffed chairs make this a setting for special events. David's Club is open for dinner. 
� The Bistro: A casual dining restaurant features Hilton's Eat Right menu, an outdoor veranda with a fire pit and views of and access to the resort area. The Bistro is open for breakfast and lunch.
