CHICAGO, IL, January 29, 2010 � The City of Amarillo, Texas is currently seeking a development team to design and construct a downtown convention center hotel of between 250 and 300 rooms. This Request for Qualifications comes after a multi-phase market and financial feasibility study, set of recommendations, and financing analysis for the project conducted over the past two years.

Hunden Strategic Partners is working with the City to conduct the search and review qualifications from developers to design and construct the project. The City will host a site visit and pre-proposal meeting February 18, followed by a submittal deadline of March 9.

Like most convention hotel projects, a public-private partnership will likely be formed to create the optimal funding package that limits City risk and maximizes the return to the community.

The project is to be located in downtown Amarillo, across the street from the Civic Center and next to the Globe-News Center for the Performing Arts.
