Request for Proposals: Development and Operation of a
New Hotel &
Conference Center Near the Indianapolis International
Airport
in Hendricks County
DANVILLE, IN (October 26, 2009) The Hendricks County Convention and Visitors Bureau (HCCVB) has issued a request for proposal from qualified developers or development teams to plan, design, finance, construct and operate a quality hotel and conference center, to be located in Hendricks County, near the Indianapolis International Airport. The envisioned project will be a full-service, quality-branded hotel with a minimum of 200 rooms, with an integrated conference center. The HCCVB is very interested in a branded hotel product that will serve as the Countys premier property, and will include all the state-of-the-industry amenities necessary to optimally service the community. The HCCVB will consider various branded prototypes and non-prototype models, but product quality and image is of high concern and the HCCVBs decisions concerning developer/operator partner selection will be influenced by this. The HCCVB presently owns an approximate 10-acre site in Plainfield at
the intersection of Interstate 70 and Highway 267 with adjacency and visibility
from I-70. The HCCVB is also presently considering the purchase of an additional
eight-acre parcel that is adjacent to the 10-acre owned site. It is contemplated
that one or both of these site parcels, or alternatively, the proceeds
from their sale, could consist of a portion of the public sectors funding
contribution to the hotel/conference center project. Additional public
sector funding and/or financing assistance may also be available for the
selected private partner for a project that is deemed beneficial to key
stakeholders, the community and its constituents.
