India's Mirah Group Appoints RamNidhi Wasan as CEO and
Joy Ghosh Marketing National Head of Marketing and Sales for Hospitality Business

Mumbai, October 27, 2009 - Mirah Group, one of India’s leading business houses, is taking its ambitions to aggressively expand into the hospitality market a step further with the appointments of key management personnel. The Rs. 1500 cr company has appointed RamNidhi Wasan as CEO and Joy Ghosh as National Head of Marketing and Sales for its Hospitality Business.

Through the strengthening of its top management, the group intends to systematically grow as a market leader in the hospitality sector.

Prior to joining Mirah Group, Mr. Wasan, who brings with him over two decades of industry experience, held the position of COO - Development for Chalet Hotels – a group company of K Raheja Corp. Here he was responsible for spearheading the hotels expansion across the country. He has also worked with the prestigious Oberoi Hotels and was National Head for the Reliance Group’s Highway Hospitality Business.

“Ram brings with him rich management experience in the area of hospitality and has excellent cross-functional industry capabilities which made him a perfect choice,” said Gaurav Goenka, Director, Mirah Group. “With his keen eye for detail and creating optimum business cases with focus on profitability we see him playing a significant role in developing and overseeing the implementation of our brand’s expansion plans.”
 
One of the top priorities on Mr. Wasan’s agenda will include spearheading the unveiling of Mirah Group’s newest brand offering - a chain of smart and stylish full service hotels that provide an interactive and engaging experience for the value-conscious traveler. And for this, Mr. Ghosh will assist the group on the brand launch and opening of its new group of hotels next month.

“Joy’s primary role is to strengthen our global market position and eventually grow the group’s sales revenue. His comprehensive knowledge and domain expertise in hospitality sales will be a real benefit to the challenging role of helping establish us under a fresh new brand,” added Mr. Goenka.

Mr. Ghosh started his career with Siemens in Calcutta. After a seven year stint with the Japanese conglomerate Mitsui & Co., Ltd., Mr. Ghosh started his hotel sales & marketing career with Hyatt Regency. He has had notable stints as head of sales & marketing at The Leela Palace Kempinski in Bangalore, Accor (Novotel Hyderabad & HICC) and Oberoi Hotels & Resorts.
