November 3, 2009 - "The economy grew at a 3.5% pace in the third quarter, best showing in two years" according to the Commerce Department and reported by USA Today (10/29/09) the article went on to say that while the pace of growth will probably slow a bit, the recession is officially over.  However, for the hotel industry, while the "Transient occupancy percent change was positive for the total U.S. (4.9 percent)" for the week ending October 10 REVPAR increases were not as positive in most markets.
