ORLANDO, Florida, September 2009—The American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (EI) will host its Celebration of Excellence Breakfast honoring the 2009 recipients of the Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA) Emeritus and Master Hotel Supplier (MHS) Emeritus designations on Monday, November 9, from 8 to 9:30 a.m., at the Jacob Javits Center, during the International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show in New York. The CHA Emeritus and MHS Emeritus are awarded in recognition of the recipients’ long and illustrious careers in the hospitality industry. The career of an Emeritus is marked by distinguished achievement in all facets of the industry, signifying a commitment to the past, present, and future of the hospitality environment. Those so honored have played a unique role in shaping the industry’s current environment and are widely recognized as role models by their industry peers. This year’s honorees for CHA Emeritus are:
The Celebration of Excellence Breakfast, sponsored by American
Express and Heartland Payment Systems, will feature a keynote address
by Peter Greenberg, America’s most recognized, honored, and respected
front-line travel news journalist. Travel Weekly recently named
Greenberg one of the most influential people in the travel industry. He
is host of the nationally-syndicated Peter Greenberg Worldwide Radio
show; travel editor at large for AARP; contributing editor for Men’s
Health magazine; and contributor to The New Yorker, Parade,
ForbesTraveler.com, and MSN.com. For seven years, he was travel
correspondent for ABC’s Good Morning America, followed by 14 years as
travel editor for NBC’s Today Show, CNBC, and MSNBC. He is the
author of several best-selling books. His latest, Tough Times, Great Travels, offers his expert
