Tamir Kobrin Appointed General Manager at the Leela Palace Kempinski Udaipur
in Rajasthan, India


MUMBAI, India, June 30, 2009 � One of India�s most renowned luxury hotel groups, The Leela Palaces, Hotels & Resorts has appointed Tamir Kobrin as General Manager of the new Leela Palace Kempinski Udaipur.  The Leela�s first palace hotel on the shores of Lake Pichola in romantic Rajasthan opened in April and will celebrate its grand opening in October.

Kobrin has more than two decades of international experience with some of the world�s leading luxury hospitality brands and is known for his expertise in working with boutique properties. He has held management positions at prestigious international hotel groups including: Ritz Carlton, Raffles and Mandarin Oriental.  Most recently he was General Manager of Soul Maldives.

�Tamir with his extensive experience of managing cross-cultural teams and his flair for languages brings in a dynamic management style to the newest palace hotel in Udaipur,� said The Leela�s Senior Vice President Rajiv Kaul. 

Tamir Kobrin began his career with the Three Kings Hotel in Basel, Switzerland. Subsequently, he worked at The Ritz Carlton, Central Park in New York.  His stint in South East Asia started with the Raffles Grand Hotel D� Angkor, Cambodia as a Resident Manager. Thereafter, in various operational capacities, Kobrin has led teams at The Mandarin Oriental and Aleenta Resorts.

His operational experience, multi-property management, project refurbishment and hotel renovation across different hotel categories has been honed after 15 years in the industry.  And his command of seven languages enhances his ability to effectively communicate with his team.

�I see my appointment as an exciting challenge,� said Kobrin. �India is emerging as a strong contender as the next super power and here I am, leading the young and dynamic Leela team at the most opportune time of growth. My endeavor will always be to raise the bar for the brand,� he concluded.  
      
Kobrin graduated from Les Roches with a diploma in Hotel Management and went on to attend Cornell University where he received a Hospitality Management certificate.

Set on the banks of beautiful Lake Pichola, The Leela Palace Kempinski Udaipur has 80 luxurious rooms and suites and captivating views of this romantic heritage city and the surrounding majestic Aravili Mountains.
