Ramada Brand Continues Growth in China Under Franchise
with Chongqing Huadi Wangchao Hotel Co., Ltd. for Development
of Two New Hotels in the Chongqing Municipality
The 255-room Ramada Plaza Dazu and the 250-room Ramada Plaza Hechuan
HONG KONG (July 21, 2009) – Ramada Worldwide, one of the world’s leading international hotel chains with nearly 900 properties around the globe, today announced efforts to increase its presence in China with the development of two new hotels in the Chongqing municipality: the 255-room Ramada Plaza Dazu and the 250-room Ramada Plaza Hechuan.
Developed under franchise agreements with Chongqing Huadi Wangchao Hotel Co., Ltd., the two hotels will add to the Ramada brand’s growing portfolio in China, which, as of March 31st, consisted of 36 hotels located in key cities and provinces throughout the country.

Over the past year, the Ramada brand has executed contracts for the development of more than eight hotels and 3,304 rooms in China, including, most recently, the 1000-room Ramada Hotel and Suites Boao in the Hainan province. In addition to its Ramada properties, Wyndham Hotel Group continues see strong growth in the country with the opening of more than 61 hotels and 10,426 rooms in the past 12 months. The company is currently the world’s largest U.S.-based hotel company in China, with 175 hotels located throughout the country.
The nine-story Ramada Plaza Dazu is currently under construction and is expected to open in the first quarter of 2010. The hotel will feature 255-rooms, 33 of which will be suites, and offer a wide range of amenities including two full-service restaurants, two bars, an executive lounge, business center, fitness center, swimming pool, sauna and nearly 1,400 square-meters of meeting space, including a 580 square-meter ballroom, capable of accommodating up to 450 guests.
The nine-story Ramada Plaza Hechuan is expected to break ground by the end of the third quarter this year. The hotel will feature 250-rooms, 31 of which will be suites, and offer a host of amenities including two full-service restaurants, two bars, an executive lounge, business center, fitness center, swimming pool, sauna and 1,200 square-meters of meeting space, including a 600 square-meter ballroom, capable of accommodating up to 500 guests.
