Kohler Installs New Two-Way Interface Between
PAR Springer-Miller’s SMS|Host® and
TravelCLICK’s iHotelier®
Stowe, With
consumers searching and booking increasingly through electronic
channels, particularly the direct online channel, hoteliers, such as
Kohler, need to present their inventory in as many places as possible. PAR
Springer-Miller and TravelCLICK, the leading provider of ecommerce
solutions including the iHotelier® Central Reservation System
(CRS), have partnered to help our hotel customers increase their
channels of distribution while reducing the total administration time.
Destination Kohler uses iHotelier to distribute inventory to, and
manage reservations for, hundreds of thousands of travel agents on the
Global Distribution System (GDS), its website’s direct bookings, as
well as Online Travel Agencies (OTA’s) that are shopped by millions of
consumers every day. The new two-way interface between iHotelier and SMS|Host
allows Kohler to achieve greater reach and enhanced merchandising with
iHotelier and its award-winning iStay® web booking engine, without
a corollary increase in labor to maintain rates and availability in
both systems. “Direct
booking through the iStay web booking engine is an important part of
our revenue stream,” remarked Rob Rohrer, Senior Systems Project
Leader, Kohler Hospitality Systems. “PAR Springer-Miller’s two-way
interface with iHotelier helps our organization maximize returns from
all of our outward distribution channel.” The
two-way interface automates the flow of room type availability and
daily pricing of rates from the SMS|Host system into
iHotelier as well as reservations from iHotelier into SMS|Host.
In a time when rate parity is key to establishing guest confidence,
this interface ensures that as Destination Kohler updates pricing in SMS|Host
to reflect demand, all of its onward channels are updated as well. “Using the SMS|Host Channel Manager, Destination Kohler can set business strategies in one location to drive the behavior of both the iHotelier CRS as well as operations within SMS|Host,” commented Tasha McKenzie, Product Manager for Distribution Interfaces. “This single-point-of-management improves efficiency and helps enhance profitability by enabling Destination Kohler’s staff to focus limited resources on strategic decisions, not data entry.” About Kohler
