Michele Pajot Named General Manager for Newly Renovated
Gaithersburg Marriott Washingtonian Center, Gaithersburg, Maryland


GAITHERSBURG, Md. - Jyly 17, 2009 - The Gaithersburg Marriott Washingtonian Center announced today that Michele Pajot has been named general manager, effective July 4, 2009. As general manager, Ms. Pajot oversees strategic and daily operations of the 284-room Gaithersburg hotel, which includes financial performance, hotel policies, community involvement and associate/management relations. In addition to Ms. Pajot’s appointment, the hotel also announced the completion of its new $250,000 fitness center renovation.

Prior to her new position at the Gaithersburg Marriott Washingtonian Center, Ms. Pajot spent 18 years with Marriott, most recently as general manager of the Charlotte Marriott SouthPark. Ms. Pajot transitioned this AAA Four Diamond Property from an independently owned hotel to a fully operating branded Marriott.

Before her tenure at the Charlotte Marriott SouthPark, Ms. Pajot was the director of operations at the Philadelphia Airport Marriott, and prior to that position, she was the director of finance at the hotel. She held several leadership positions over the preceding eight years within the finance discipline after graduating from Bentley College with a Bachelor of Science degree in finance. Ms. Pajot started her Marriott career as a banquet server while she was in college.

The fitness center renovation at the Gaithersburg Marriott Washingtonian Center has resulted in an open and airy workout space with top-of-the-line equipment. The newly renovated fitness center also includes a gorgeous lakefront view, with convenient access to the lobby.

In addition to the renovation, the fitness center boasts cardio equipment--each machine with its own individual flat screen TV, free weights, nautilus equipment, exercise balls for yoga and strength training, a chilled water and whole fruit station, and freshly laundered towels.
