CHICO, CALIF. (Aug. 18, 2009): Destination Hotels & Resorts,
consistently rated one of the top 10 independent hospitality management
companies in the United States with more than 30 upscale hotels, resorts
and conference centers, today announced it will be partnering with Odyssey
Teams, creator of the renowned Life Cycles program and leader in innovative,
philanthropic team building and leadership programs, to bring its conference
clientele a one-of-a-kind offering for their team building needs.
We are very excited to have Odyssey Teams as a preferred partner at
our more than 30 properties coast-to-coast as we believe this is an incredibly
impactful philanthropic program to offer our group and meeting clients,
said Maureen Callahan, vice president of marketing for Destination Hotels
& Resorts. Our properties are very much a part of the local community
where they reside and Odyssey Teams programs, which encourage groups around
the world to give back to their communities, fits in perfectly with our
companys core values.
Odyssey Teams, founded in 1991 has provided programs for eBay, Wells
Fargo, Spherion, Pfizer, Kinkos, Walmart and other blue-chip corporations,
non-profits and educational institutions. Recognizing that people perform
best professionally when their work is tied to a sense of purpose, Odyssey
Teams programs incorporate a philanthropic component: As participants
build teamwork, creativity, leadership and intelligent risk-taking, they
also build a sense of civic spirit and community service.
We get people connected to who they are, who they work with, what
they do at work and why they do it, which in turn helps them improve their
connections to customers, customers service and their lives outside the
office, said Bill John, Odyssey Teams president and co-founder. We are
thrilled to be a part of the Destination Hotels & Resorts experience
and share in the sense of community it evokes while offering its clientele
a life changing experience.
Odyssey Teams Philanthropic Team Building Program Highlights

to assemble basic but highly functional prosthetic hands for donation to
amputees in developing countries. To date, 1,035 adults and children have
received a prosthetic hand at not cost to the recipients. Project Playhouse,
allows participants to emphasize their organizations community ties by
building playhouses for childrens groups and donating them to various
