.Four Points by Sheraton Columbus Ohio Airport Among
First to Open with High-Definition Satellite TV

Broadband Hospitality Provides Complete TV, Internet Package

COLUMBUS, OHIO August 12, 2009 The Four Points by Sheraton Columbus Ohio Airport has selected Broadband Hospitality to provide standard- and high-definition satellite TV service (HDTV), 32-inch Pro:Idiom Hospitality TVs, and high-speed wired and wireless Internet in guestrooms in its brand new 110-room property. The hotel, owned by Columbus, Ohio-based VJP Hospitality and managed by Darpan Management Inc., also chose Broadband Hospitality to install and manage computer and Internet service in the hotels business center, and assisted in the setup of the hotels property management and reservation systems.

We were looking for a company with the ability to handle both satellite TV and Internet, says Dan Shah, regional manager for Darpan Management, Columbus, Ohio. I wanted just one person to call to handle both services. Broadband Hospitality was an easy choice given the relationship we have had the past 10 years. They have always done a great job. Their customer support is excellent.

Broadband Hospitalitys satellite TV installation includes 10 HDTV stations and 24 standard stations per the requirements of Four Points by Sheratonincluding Showtime, ESPN & many others. The company installed everything the hotel needed to successfully run a state-of-the-art satellite TV system32-inch Pro:Idiom TVs, satellite dish, satellite head end, transcoder, QAM modulator, and more.

HDTV Becoming Expected Amenity

The top five largest hotel chains are currently requiring owners to transition to HDTV by the end of 2010, says Vince Lucci, president of Youngstown, Ohio-based Broadband Hospitality. Starwoods Four Points by Sheraton is among that group. Many travelers today have flat screen TVs and HDTV at home. They expect the same on the road. They are becoming a necessary amenity.

It was very important to open our new hotel with satellite HDTV, Shah says. That is the direction upscale hotels are going.

To enable wired and wireless high-speed Internet service at the hotel, Broadband Hospitality installed SMC wired switches for the hardwired connection, a Cisco wireless overlay, and a head end server from Nomadix. In the hotels business center, the company installed Internet, computers, monitors and printers.

To ensure live call center support 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, the hotel also purchased a level three support contract, Lucci says. This guarantees them next day, on-site service.

With more than 1 million users to date, Broadbands installations can be found in properties represented by companies such as Hyatt, Hilton, Marriott, Starwood, Choice Hotels, InterContinental, Carlson, and Wyndham Worldwide.
