May 20, 2009--DUBAI -- Las Vegas-based hotel operator MGM Mirage is making its first foray into Dubai's property market, agreeing to manage three hotels for local developer Pearl Dubai. The two companies announced plans on Tuesday for MGM to operate a 250-room Bellagio Hotel, a 350-room MGM Grand Hotel, and a Skylofts Hotel with 30 suites. The hotels will be part of Pearl Dubai's Dh15-billion ($4 billion) Dubai Pearl project and are scheduled to be built by 2011. MGM's first hotel management deal in Dubai comes 20 days after Dubai World dropped a lawsuit it had filed against MGM.
