Denver, CO (May 12, 2009) -- Sage Hospitality, a national leader in hotel development and management, announced that Ed Baklor has joined Sage as Divisional Vice President.

Baklor will have responsibility for operations and overall performance of the water resort portfolio including the CoCo Key brand.

“Ed is a strategic operations executive with 30 years experience in the hospitality, leisure travel and retail industries,” said Walter Isenberg, president and CEO Sage Hospitality. “He brings an exceptional background that includes both launching new ventures and reinventing mature businesses. He has a unique skill set that bridges traditional hotel operations with destination retail and theme park operations, all of which will be a significant advantage to Sage.”

Since 1995, Baklor has been with Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. Most recently, he was Senior Vice President, Adventures by Disney, where he was responsible for building the Disney family vacation tour business. Prior to that, he served as Vice President, Alliance Development for Walt Disney World Orlando with responsibility for creating alliance partnerships. He was Vice President, Downtown Disney where he was responsible for 6,000 employees and a 120-acre retail, dining and entertainment property with nightclubs, movie theaters and Cirque du Soleil. His career at Disney included various roles in hotel operations including serving as Director of Rooms for all 21 of Disney’s Orlando hotels and as General Manager of the Caribbean Beach Resort and the Boardwalk Resort and Vacation Club and General Manager of Epcot.

“Over the past five years, we have greatly expanded and diversified the Sage portfolio, adding luxury hotels, adaptive reuse projects and water resorts that were not previously part of our business,” Isenberg added. “Today we take steps to further enhance our water resort division by welcoming Ed to the Sage team.

We look forward to blending Ed’s expertise with our leadership team and believe that his ability to create a dynamic vision, build relationships and seek partnerships will have a profound impact on the entire Sage enterprise.”
