News for the Hospitality Executive
Fusion of the Computer, Internet
and TV Initially; Targeted To
Hotel, Restaurant and Related Industries
“The advanced Activision TV platform has been in development for more than eighteen years and is coming to market at a time when the traveling public wants to take their in-home entertainment and technology systems with them,” said David Gothard, Activision TV founder and CEO. “Operators can now provide their guests with Real interactivity, Real connectivity as well as Real choices about how to spend their time in their hotel room, and all within the context of Real profitability for operators.” Gothard noted Activision TV has ten patents and patents pending, with over 200 claims to cover the new technology. Activision TV’s solutions provide view access to a single screen, or as many as four computer functions simultaneously, for word processing, data transfer, Internet access, e-mail, video games, DVD and more, while using Wi-Fi connections. The system is fully HDTV/3D ready and all components function within a user friendly environment using Microsoft® Windows® XP Media Center and other compatible software.
Gothard observed that the product and the marketplace are ideally positioned for rapid adoption. “The convergence of the computer, Internet and television is no longer a promise on the horizon—it is here. “Activision TV has the technology that the hospitality, restaurant and retail industries need to generate revenue and provide services in the current transition to the new digital broadcast world,” Gothard said.
Activision TV is an easy-to-use digital information and entertainment hub, combining broadband Internet and Wi-Fi access that comes with wireless keyboard, mouse, built-in CPU and memory, and is a fully integrated audio/video system with DVD and surround sound capabilities. The system is designed for use with digital HDTV flat-panel LCD and plasma screens, and will be marketed under the Activision TV label.
