ACE DuraFlo®, ePIPE® team nominated for
National Medal of Technology and Innovation

Over the last 10 years, ACE DuraFlo’s ePIPE technology has helped protect dozens of the nation’s finest hotel operations from their piping issues including the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, the historic Mayflower Park Hotel in Seattle, The Holland America Group, the world-famous Los Angeles Millennium Biltmore Hotel, Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, Starwood Hotels and Resorts, The Resort at Squaw Creek at Lake Tahoe, the Marriott in Park City, Utah, the Quality Inn Group and the Avenue Plaza Hotel in New Orleans.

The National Medal of Technology and Innovation is the highest honor for technological achievement bestowed by the President of the United States on America's leading innovators.   The Medal is awarded in recognition of outstanding contributions to the Nation's economic, environmental and social well-being through the development and commercialization of technological products, processes and concepts; technological innovation; and development of the Nation's technological manpower.

Larry Gillanders, CEO states that the reason ACE DuraFlo Systems is so successful with hotel and resort properties is because “our non-invasive solution for pipe corrosion problems provides a permanent solution to a destructive problem, with virtually no loss of revenue or impact on continued operations.”  Gillanders continued, “after more than a decade of experience working with hoteliers we really understand the inner workings and specific challenges of the hospitality industry. We train all our restoration specialists and technicians to collaborate with all hotel departments (engineering, housekeeping, maintenance, and guest services) to keep the property up and running while completing the pipe restoration process.” Gillanders added “we really have the experience and expertise to help hotel and resort property owners by working as a part of their integrated team.”

Supporters of PRT’s nomination for this honor included Dr. Marc Edwards, Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering of Virginia Tech. Dr. Edwards has been honored by the White House with a National Science Foundation Presidential Faculty Fellowship.
