Red Roof Has Eight NextGen New Build Properties Under
Construction with 25 Locations Under Contract
COLUMBUS, Ohio - Red Roof, a leader in economy lodging, has opened the first of their exciting NextGen new build properties in Locust Grove, Georgia. Right on its heels, another NextGen property will debut in Beaumont, Texas this June. Both properties are franchise-owned.
These newly constructed NextGen properties signal a new era in Red Roof’s evolution. While still providing cost-effective economy lodging, the brand has upped the ante, developing modern, boutique hotels that are exquisitely luxurious. Red Roof is one of the few major lodging companies that are building new properties in this challenging environment. The NextGen prototype has been particularly successful for the brand with enthusiastic franchise response: Up to eight NextGen hotels are under construction; 25 locations are under contract and due to commence construction in the near future and a total of 50 NextGen properties are in the pipeline.
“It’s our time,” says Rob Wallace, Senior Vice President of Franchise. “The demand for the NextGen prototype has been extremely successful probably because it delivers mid-scale appeal without the mid-scale building costs for developers. The momentum for this new build model has been above expectations. Red Roof is Red Hot in these tough times.”
The 64-room Locust Grove property features Red Roof’s NextGen room design which includes new and luxurious bathrooms with granite countertops, vessel sinks and spa-inspired rain-flow showers, but does not feature the NextGen exterior facade. The Locust Grove Inn also features wireless internet and flat-screen TVs that will be outfitted with auto sensing remote jack packs (RJPs) as well as spacious workspaces with ergonomic seating; Love-you-Linens™ plush bedding and Smart-by-Design® amenities. Additional features at this location include a game room, complimentary gourmet coffee, deluxe continental breakfast and free USA Todays in the lobby. Voicemail and cable TV with over 60 channels (including HBO) will also be provided to guests.
Red Roof will continue its roll-out of NextGen properties later this year with the grand opening of a complete NextGen new build in Beaumont, Texas, developed by SouthCorp. Minimalist. Simple. Modern. Authentic: Red Roof, a stalwart of the economy traveler, has recommitted itself to serving today's demanding consumer with modern rooms that are sure to please even the most discriminating traveler.
“Red Roof is an intuitive brand and one that's on the move. We've seen that the economy has forced consumers and businesses to rethink their lodging needs and look for a brand that provides the most value for their money,” says Wallace. “Our detail-oriented new builds and redesigns give travelers everything they need and then some. It's the basics kicked up a notch,” he added.
Locust Grove is located approximately 40 minutes south of Atlanta. The property is located at 4840 Bill Gardnes Parkway just off of I-75 at exit 212. Just 88 miles east of Houston, Beaumont, Texas is located on the state’s Gulf Coast.
