HMC Appoints Marshall Tullos General Manager for the Holiday Inn
 Northwest/Sea World Area in San Antonio, Texas

Dallas, TX, April 29, 2009:  Leo Spriggs, President/CEO of Hospitality Management Corporation (HMC), is pleased to announce that Marshall Tullos has been appointed general manager for the soon-to-open Holiday Inn Northwest/Sea World Area in San Antonio, Texas.

Tullos was HMC’s general manager at the Holiday Inn in Denton, TX, from it’s opening in March 0f 2007 until February of 2009 when he accepted the new position.  During his tenure, the Holiday Inn Denton consistently exceeded budgeted revenues, and won awards from IHG for Region’s Top Overall Satisfaction Scores for 2007/2008.  Tullos was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation from HMC at their 2009 General Managers’ Conference for extraordinary service to the company and its clients and staff.

Prior to accepting the Denton position, Tullos was HMC’s general manager at the Radisson Hotel in Spartanburg, SC.  He previously held executive management positions at hotels, resorts, and conference centers in Louisiana, Texas, Georgia, and Oklahoma.  His 28 years of experience includes managing and overseeing property operations, sales and marketing, renovations, budgeting and cost controls, and development.

Opening in late summer of 2009, the Holiday Inn Northwest/Sea World Area in San Antonio, TX will be a full-service hotel with a Hill Country theme.  The hotel is being positioned to be a high-end, but affordable, alternative for the Northwest area of San Antonio.  Guests will enjoy the hotel’s close proximity to many area attractions, such as Sea World of Texas, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, the Alamo, and the Riverwalk.  The hotel will have 194 guest rooms, and 6,000 square feet of indoor function space.

This Holiday Inn plans to receive a gold rating in the LEED certification program implemented by the U.S. Green Building Council.  Currently, this is the first major-brand hotel development planned to meet the LEED Gold accreditation.  Some of the eco-friendly characteristics include:

 

        ·         Rainwater collection system used to water all landscaping

        ·         Low-Energy HVAC system

        ·         A “green screen” interactive lobby display to educate guests on the “green” features of the hotel.

There will be three food and beverage outlets located in the hotel, including the Sporting News Bar & Grill, a high energy sports bar with 14 flat panel TV’s that will broadcast all major sporting events throughout the year; three pools, one in door, one outdoor, a “kiddie” pool, and an exterior hot tub, along with a full-service pool bar.  Guest rooms will all feature 32” flat panel televisions, complimentary high speed Internet access, pillow top mattresses, coffee makers, hair dryers.
