Embassy Suites Opens 200th Property,
Minneapolis - Brooklyn Center

Featuring Milestone Design Option III Prototype & Flying Spoons

MEMPHIS, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Embassy Suites Hotels is proud to announce the opening of its 200th hotel—the Embassy Suites Minneapolis-Brooklyn Center. This all-suite property is Brooklyn Center’s first new hotel in 10 years, and one of the first in the U.S. to be of the new, environmentally friendly design from Embassy Suites.

The hotel also represents the brand’s second Design Option III prototype, as well as Flying Spoons, the hip casual F & B concept invented by Embassy Suites Hotels.

Conveniently situated near downtown Minneapolis/St. Paul, the 175-suite hotel is the brand’s fourth location in the greater Minneapolis area and the first Design Option III prototype and Flying Spoons restaurant in Minneapolis/St. Paul. The Embassy Suites Minneapolis-Brooklyn Center is owned by Brooklyn Hotel Partners, LLC, managed by The Oliver Companies and has 90 employees.

“We are excited to expand our presence in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area with the 200th Embassy Suites Hotel opening, as well as debut the brand’s second Design Option III property and the first in the state of Minnesota,” said Jim Holthouser, Global Head of Full Service Brands, Hilton Hotels Corporation. “Roughly 75% of our pipeline of 60 hotels is the Design Option III build, which has been well-received by both the development community and our guests.”

The new Design Option III prototype build offers guests all of the same essential amenities traditional Embassy Suites properties are renowned for, but with a more cost-effective and environmentally friendly design. The suites offer a side-by-side design for a more residential feel. The property will also offer guests Flying Spoons, the new “hip-casual” restaurant concept only from Embassy Suites Hotels. Part European-style café and part American coffeehouse, Flying Spoons gives guests an efficient and flexible approach to dining. Guests of the Embassy Suites Minneapolis-Brooklyn Center can grab a snack and coffee to go or a full gourmet meal any time of day from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

The Embassy Suites Minneapolis-Brooklyn Center is attached to the beautifully restored historic Earle Brown Center, one of the Midwest’s premier conference and events centers, which offers guests 36,000 square feet of flexible meeting space in addition to the 5,000 square feet of meeting space on-site. With its option of two- or three-room suites, abundant meeting space, and close proximity to major attractions including the Minneapolis Convention Center, Mall of America and the Target Center, the new property maintains Embassy Suites’ mission of catering to both business and leisure travelers.

Guests to the new Embassy Suites Minneapolis - Brooklyn Center can also take advantage of the new “Requests Upon Arrival” program from Embassy Suites, giving all guests the opportunity to order complimentary or paid in-room offerings, services, snacks and beverages even before embarking on their trip. By ordering these items or services online prior to check-in, “Requests Upon Arrival” saves guests time and frustration by eliminating the need to ask for amenities after they arrive in their suite.

The new property also offers six comfortable meeting rooms at very competitive rates, complete catering services, state-of-the-art audio/visual capabilities, complimentary wireless Internet access in all public areas and easy and convenient freeway access and complimentary parking. With banquet menus that have been specifically designed to satisfy a wide variety of individual tastes at any budget, the new property excels in accommodating the unique need of each client, whether it’s for a small business meeting or a mid-sized banquet up to 225 guests.

For a special occasion, the stunning Grandview Ballroom features floor-to ceiling windows which overlook the Historic Earle Brown Center’s, offering guests a beautiful view of the Center’s pond.

In addition to core amenities consistent with all Embassy Suites Hotels—two-room suites, complimentary cooked-to-order breakfast, nightly Manager’s Reception* and open-air atrium—the suites in the new design include two flat screen televisions, a signature, spacious desk, ergonomic chair and mobile furnishings so guests may create their own unique living space. The property also features an 850 square feet Precor expanded fitness center, an indoor pool and whirlpool, welcoming registration area featuring registration pods, rather than a traditional high-barrier front desk and the upgraded Embassy Essentials Bedding Collection.
