Kimpton Hotels Appoints Mark Fischer to General Manager and Alicia Junca
as Director of Sales and Marketing for the 304-room Hotel Palomar Atlanta

ATLANTA, Jan. 27, 2009 – Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, a collection of boutique hotels and chef-driven restaurants in the United States and Canada, today announced the appointment of veteran hotelier Mark Fischer to general manager of the new 304-room Hotel Palomar Atlanta, which is slated to open during the spring of 2009 in the heart of Midtown Atlanta. Atlanta native Alicia Junca also joins Kimpton as director of sales and marketing for the hotel.   
 
Fischer will work to integrate Hotel Palomar Atlanta, Kimpton’s first hotel in the market, to become a part of the bustling Midtown Atlanta community. He will also oversee all daily operations of Hotel Palomar Atlanta, bringing to life Kimpton’s most iconic guest experiences, from the “Guppy Love” program that provides guests with a goldfish companion upon request, to the hosted evening Wine Hour that offers guests a chance to indulge in the art of conversation while tasting wines from around the world.

Part of the Kimpton team for more than six years, Fischer most recently served as general manager of Kimpton’s 112-room Onyx Hotel in Boston.  He is relocating to Atlanta with his wife and two children.
 
As director of sales and marketing, Junca is responsible for introducing the hotel’s highly flexible and sophisticated meeting and event space to clients, groups and social event planners who have need for creative and memorable venues. Previously, Junca was responsible for sales and marketing at Twelve Hotels & Residences, managing activity at two of the brand’s Atlanta properties.  
 
Junca is active in several local organizations including the Atlanta Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, Meeting Planners International, Midtown Alliance and Share our Strength (SOS). She currently resides in Buckhead with her husband and two children.
