HFTP Helps Forecast the Hospitality Industry
in The Hotel Yearbook 2009
.

AUSTIN, TEXAS, USA (February 10, 2009) As experts and leaders in the hospitality industry, several Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP) members authored articles for the recently-released The Hotel Yearbook 2009. Sponsored by HFTP, The Hotel Yearbook is a forward-looking publication written entirely by hospitality industry insiders, executives and observers. In its third year, the publication offers articles looking at industry trends from a variety of perspectives: geographic markets, industry segments, management functions and techniques, as well as highlighting companies and individuals expected to play a high-profile role throughout the year.

"Of course, no one knows for sure what will happen this year, or how our industry will react to world events, follow well-developed trends or establish new ones," said James Wade, publisher of The Hotel Yearbook. "But in The Hotel Yearbook, the worlds most knowledgeable insiders take a stab at predicting what might happen, what could happen even what ought to happen in the hotel business in 2009 and beyond."

Along with sponsoring the publication, HFTP contributed various articles to The Hotel Yearbook. These articles include HFTP CEO, Frank Wolfe, CAE, and HFTP Global President, Jules Sieburgh, CHTP addressing the future of in-room technology; HFTP Global Director, Carson Booth, CHTP, and HFTP members Jeremy Ward, Nick Price and Floor Bleeker discussing the hotel technology industry during a technology roundtable; HFTP Global Director, Ian Millar, CHTP, offering insight into Generation Y hotel guests; and HFTP highlighting what the association has planned for the rest of the year.

"HFTP strongly believes in the benefits of The Hotel Yearbook, which is why we didn't hesitate to participate in sponsoring the publications, as well as contributing insight from various knowledgeable HFTP members," said Wolfe.

The Hotel Yearbook has 50 contributors from over 20 different countries, including hotel company CEOs, senior managers, industry analysts and consultants. It is published by Wade & Co, Switzerland, in association with Burba Hotel Network on behalf of the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne. Over the course of the next few months, the publication will be distributed to participants at BHN's hotel investment conferences worldwide; to all the alumni of Switzerland's famous Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne around the world; as well as to a list of some 4,000 hotel industry executives, General Managers and other industry decision-makers. It is also available for HFTP members on HFTP's web site. For more information, visit www.hotel-yearbook.com
